摘要： A first illumination section radiates light at a certain degree of illuminance toward the face of a human recognition object from an upper right part or an upper left part of a camera, and a second illumination section radiates light at a certain degree of illuminance toward the face of the human recognition object from a lower part of a camera. The camera photographs and inputs a facial image of the human recognition object. The image processing section extracts a feature value of the face of the human recognition object from a facial image inputted by the camera and collates the feature value extracted with a standard feature value registered in advance so as to recognize a facial image of the human recognition object.

摘要： An area information storage section stores positional information on at least two target areas on the standard image of printed matter to be examined, the area of each of the target areas, their standard average densities, and the standard deviation of their density distribution. An average density computing section calculates the average density for each target area in the image data supplied from the image input section using positional information on each target area and its area supplied from the area information storage section. A density difference measuring means measures, target area by target area, the density difference between the average density and the standard average density supplied from the area information storage section. A density difference normalizing section normalizes the density difference and the standard deviation of the density distribution supplied from the area information storage section. On the basis of the added value of the normalized density difference for each of the target areas, a summing section judges the degree of stain on the printed matter to be examined.

摘要： The face authenticating apparatus obtains the facial image of the pedestrian M before the pedestrian M approaches the camera. The face authenticating apparatus performs the face authentication based on the obtained image and the feature information which is previously stored as the dictionary information. When the face authentication is unsuccessful, the face authenticating apparatus receives operational input from the pedestrian M by prompting the pedestrian M to operate the operating unit which is installed near the door. The face authenticating apparatus performs the authentication of the pedestrian M based on the inputted operational input. When the authentication result is OK, the face authenticating apparatus performs registration or updating based on the facial image which is obtained before the pedestrian M approaches the door.
