    Abstract: A rotary actuator includes a roller having a center shaft protruding along a center axis, a bearing for supporting the center shaft of the roller to allow the roller to rotate about the center axis, a ring magnet fixed to the center shaft of the roller, an elastic member having a ring shape provided between the center shaft of the roller and the bearing, and a fixed magnet facing the ring magnet. The ring magnet is alternately magnetized to an S-pole and an N-pole with predetermined angular intervals. This rotary actuator has a simple structure and operates with a preferable operation feeling.

    Abstract: A routing guide system has memory means provided outside a mobile body for storing data of images at a plurality of guide points. The routing guide system also has distance measuring means for measuring the distance from the current position of the mobile body to the next guide point. The routing guide system also has image request generation means for generating an image request for the next guide point when the distance measured by the distance measuring means is not more than a first predetermined distance. The routing guide system also has transmission means provided outside the mobile body for reading from the memory means an image of the next guide point in response to the image request and for transmitting that image to the mobile body. The routing guide system also has display control means for causing the mobile body to receive the image transmitted from the transmission means and causing a display device to display the image.

    Abstract: Provided are an input device capable of a variety of operations with a simple configuration, and an electronic apparatus using the same. A rotary operation portion 2 includes ring magnets 4 securely attached at opposite ends of a roller 3, each ring magnet 4 being magnetized with the S- and N-poles alternating at a predetermined angular pitch, and magnetic sensing elements 13 and stationary magnets 7 disposed so as to face their respective ring magnets 4. The rotary operation portion 2 is covered by an operation plate 16 having formed at its center a roller insertion hole 16a for projecting a part of the outer circumferential surface of the roller 3. The rotation of the roller 3 is magnetically sensed, and switches 9 and 11 are provided so as to be turned “ON”/“OFF” in accordance with operations of pressing the roller 3 and rocking the operation plate 16 in the “front”, “back”, “left”, and “right” directions.
