Abstract:
A transversal equalizer having first and second transversal filters, each including a plurality of adders and a set of multipliers, and each of which equalizes input sample values based on tap coefficients applied to the multipliers and outputs the resulting signal, a combining circuit in the second transversal filter for combining the output signal of the first transversal filter with the signal being processed in the second transversal filter and a switch which connects the first output signal from the first transversal filter to either the combining circuit of the second transversal filter or to the input of the second transversal filter.
Abstract:
A transversal equalizer having a specified number of rear taps. The transversal equalizer includes a first transversal equalizer unit which receives input signals through a first input terminal, equalizes their waveforms, and outputs the equalized signals as cascaded signals and a second transversal equalizer unit which receives the cascade output signals and also receives input signals and outputs an equalized signal derived from the input signals.
Abstract:
An image signal processor for processing a received image signal. The received image signal can be at least one of an analog image signal and a digital image signal. The processor converts the analog image signal into first digital image data and converts the digital image signal to second digital image data. The processor selects at least one of the first and second digital image data as input image data. The input image data is then decode-processed based upon a selected at least one of a plurality of processing programs. The selected at least one processing program corresponds to the selected at least one of the first and second digital image data.
Abstract:
A ghost cancelling system which detects a horizontal scanning line containing the reference signals and extracts 8 fields reference signals from the horizontal scanning line. A final reference signal corresponding to the 8 fields reference signals is calculated by a specified calculation algorithm, and the system corrects the tap coefficient in response to the distinguished ghost signal using the final reference signal.
Abstract:
A television signal processor selectively processing each television signal transmitted by a plurality of different television systems and displaying the processed television signal using any of multiple displays having different synchronizing frequencies and aspect ratios. The television signal processor includes a signal processing device for decoding a received signal in accordance with the system generating the received television signal, and a control mechanism for processing a television signal from the signal processing device in accordance with specification data corresponding to a display for displaying the television signal.
Abstract:
A ghost cancelling system which distinguishes whether ghosts have been substantially cancelled from a video signal for finding an equilibrium condition. The system calculates a specified value which depends on the noise signal contained in the video signal. The tap coefficients which are equal or greater than the specified value are then detected, and the system corrects only those tap coefficients after the equilibrium condition exists.
