摘要: An EGR cooler including tubes and a shell enclosing the tubes. Cooling water is supplied into and discharged from the shell. Exhaust gas is guided from a diesel engine into the tubes for thermal exchange of the exhaust gas with the cooling water. A bypass flow path for guiding the cooling water is constituted within the shell so as to prevent stagnation of the cooling water in the shell.

摘要: Coolant water is prevented from stagnating with no restriction to a mounted posture of an EGR cooler to a vehicle. The EGR cooler has tubes 3 and a shell 1 surrounding the tubes 3, coolant water 9 being fed into and discharged from the shell 1, exhaust gas being passed through the tubes 3 for heat exchange of the exhaust gas with the coolant water 9. An annular coolant-water supply chamber 11 is fitted over the shell 1 near an axial end of the shell 1. A coolant-water inlet pipe 4 is connected to a periphery of the supply chamber 11. Communicating holes 12 are formed at a plurality of peripheral positions sequentially along a portion of the shell 1 surrounded by the supply chamber 11 such that the holes have gradually reduced diameters as they are apart from the connection of the shell with the inlet pipe 4, so that the coolant water 9 may be introduced into the shell 1 substantially evenly through the communicating holes 12.

摘要: Provided is an EGR cooler which can solve the problem of the vibrated tubes without causing thermal deformation due to stagnation of the coolant water, without complexity of piping in the coolant water system and without increase in pressure loss. The EGR cooler comprises tubes 3 and a shell surrounding the tubes 3, the coolant water being supplied and discharged to and from the shell 1 and being passed through the respective tubes 3 so as to make heat exchange of the exhaust gas with the coolant water. In the shell 1, an intermediate support plate 13 with a plurality of through-holes 14 is arranged and mutually adjacent ones of the tubes 3 are grouped for penetratingly fixture to the through-hole 14. A coolant water passage 15 is ensured between the tubes 3 grouped and penetratingly fixed to the same through-hole 14 of the intermediate support plate 13 for free communication between the tubes 3.

摘要: A particulate filter is realized in a compact size which is adaptive to forced regeneration through addition of fuel and which can prevent white fume from being generated by excessive part of the fuel. A particulate filter 12 is disclosed which captures particulates entrained in exhaust gas 2. Plug bodies 8 at inlets of a filter body 7 are arranged in passages and inwardly of an inlet edge of the filter body by predetermined distance, added-fuel oxidation catalyst 13 with enhanced performance of promoting oxidation reaction of the added fuel being carried in a region between the inlet edge of the filter body and arranged positions of the plug bodies 8 at the inlets. Plug bodies 9 at outlets of the filter body 7 are arranged in the passages and inwardly of an outlet edge o the filter body by predetermined distance, excess-fuel oxidation catalyst 14 with enhanced performance for promoting oxidation reaction of excess fuel remaining unreacted being carried in a region between arranged positions of the plug bodies 9 at the outlets and the outlet edge of the filter body.

摘要: Surging is reliably prevented from occurring even when an engine with a turbocharger is operated with reduced number of cylinders and at a low speed range.Concerned is a method for controlling actuation of valves in an engine with a turbocharger, a variable valve mechanism 18 being arranged for controlling opening/closing timing and lifts of suction and exhaust valves (only exhaust valves 17 being shown in the figure) of each of cylinders 8, an operation with reduced number of cylinders being made possible by the variable valve mechanism 18 such that valve-opening action of suction and exhaust valves in part of the cylinders 8 is disabled to conduct the operation with the remaining cylinders 8. The exhaust valves 17 are opened substantially when a suction pressure is higher than an exhaust pressure in a suction stroke during the operation with the reduced number of cylinders at a low speed range, so that blown out amount of fresh air (suction air 4) to the exhaust side is increased to increase apparent exhaust flow rate and raise the level of the suction characteristic of the engine.

Adjacent to the delivery mechanism is a hammer mechanism that hits the leader block for engagement with a latch.
