Abstract: High-accuracy multimodal biometric authentication of a plurality of body organisms is achieved while suppressing postural fluctuation when the plurality of body organisms are captured. An authentication system stores feature quantities for body organisms in association with users and performs biometric authentication on the basis of images from a capture device. The capture device photographs a first body organism of a first user during a first period and captures a second body organism and a third body organism of the first user during a second period. The authentication processing device calculates a first feature quantity from the first body part photographed during the first period, respectively calculates a second feature quantity and a third feature quantity from the second body organism and the third body organism captured during the second period, and compares with the feature quantities for the body organisms of each user stored at the storage device.

Abstract: To provide an imaging device capable of reducing discomfort caused by visible light. A light source can emit the visible light and invisible light as irradiation light. An imaging unit captures an image of an irradiation region irradiated with the irradiation light to acquire an image. A processor causes the imaging unit to acquire a detection image in a first irradiation mode in which the invisible light is emitted from the light source, and determines whether a biometric object is presented in the irradiation region based on the detection image. When the biometric object is presented, the processor causes the imaging unit to acquire the biometric image obtained by copying the biometric object as the image in a second irradiation mode in which the visible light and the invisible light are emitted from the light source.

Abstract: The objective is to achieve highly accurate authentication even when there is variation in the ambient light environment during biometric imaging. A biometric authentication device includes an image capturing unit that captures images of a living body, a light source for capturing images of the living body, an optical filter that selectively passes and blocks light according to wavelength, a spectroscopic processing unit that separates multiple wavelengths captured simultaneously, respectively, and a calculation unit that calculates the shape and posture of a predetermined part of the living body in the captured images, a background removal unit that removes the background from the image of the living body using the spectral images of the living body and the spectral image of the unwanted ambient light, and an authentication unit that performs biometric authentication using the image of the predetermined part.
