    摘要: An automatic loading disc player includes a turntable for rotating a disc to be played back, a disc transfer mechanism for carrying and transferring the disc into a predetermined playback position on the turntable or a position in the vicinity thereof, and a positioning mechanism for positioning the disc in a predetermined position on the disc transfer mechanism. The positioning mechanism is engageable with at least three points on an outer peripheral edge of the disc for positioning the disc and drivable in coaction with disc transferring operation of the disc transfer mechanism. The positioning mechanism is releasable from engagement with the disc while the disc is being played back. The positioning mechanism includes three positioning levers angularly movable by an endless chain for engagement with the outer peripheral edge of the disc. With this arrangement, the disc can accurately and reliably be positioned on the disc transfer mechanism regardless of the diameter of the disc.

To detect the amount of offset in perpendicularity between the optical axis of the reading light beam and the recording surface, a light-emitting element and a light-detecting element are provided. In accordance with the invention, the path between the light-emitting element and the light-detecting element does not pass through a lens which focuses the reading beam onto the plane of the recording medium.

    摘要: A device for eliminating time base variations in a video disc player in which a gate pulse controlled by the latest time base information is generated for preventing faulty operation during the absence of burst signals. The gate pulse is generated after a predetermined time which is proportional to a delay control signal and which starts from a leading edge of each of the horizontal synchronizing signals. A time base information pulse is generated having a width extending from the leading edge of the gate pulse to the leading edge of the specific color burst signal appearing after the leading edge of the gate pulse when color burst signals are present and having the same width as the gate pulse when the color burst signals are absent. The delay control signal and the timing pulse are generated in turn in response to a sampling pulse and the time base information pulse when the color burst signals are present and in response only to the time base information pulse when the color burst signals are absent. The sampling pulse is produced in response to the timing pulse when the color burst signals are absent and an error signal is generated in response to a reference horizontal synchronizing pulse and the sampling pulse. A servo device operates in response to the error signal to compensate for time base variations.

    摘要: An improved method for recording audio and video information together on a video disk or the like wherein the position of the audio information is made to coincide closely with that of the video information. Both the video and the audio information are divided into blocks. At the start of recording of one block of video data, recording of a block of audio data one block behind is commenced. At the end of the recording of the block of audio data, if the time remaining for recording the block of video data is less than a predetermined value, a subsequent block of audio information is recorded, while if the time remaining is greater, a block of inserted data, such as audio silence, is recorded.

A digitally modulated audio signal recorded in the form of a pulse train is extracted from the output of the pickup, and a clock signal is extracted from the former signal indicative of the presence of audio data. A changeover instruction signal is produced in response to the pulse train thus demodulated. A signal selecting switch circuit selectively outputs in response to the changeover instruction signal one of the extracted clock signal and a synchronizing signal contained in the reproduced video signal as a signal for controlling the speed of movement of the pickup relative to the recording medium.

    摘要: A method for recording and reproducing multiplex information in which two subcarriers of the same frequency are modulated by two respective subchannel signals. The modulated signals are added to two main channel signals to produce two corresponding sum signals. Two main carriers of different frequencies are then modulated with the two sum signals. Information is recorded on a storage medium in response to the frequency-modulated signals. For reproduction of the recorded information, the main carriers are extracted and separated in frequency, and then detected by separate frequency detecting means. A selected one of two detected outputs from the frequency detecting means is supplied at a time to a common subchannel demodulating means.
