A compression release type engine brake includes an exhaust rocker arm including a roller which is mounted at one end portion thereof, and the exhaust rocker arm rotating around a rocker arm shaft by the rotation of the exhaust cam, a valve bridge disposed on the other end portion of the exhaust rocker arm and connected to an exhaust valve, a brake module mounted between the exhaust rocker arm and the valve bridge, contacting with the roller and the brake cam lobe according to inflow of selectively supplied operation oil to open the exhaust valve by the exhaust cam, and the brake module including a reset valve closing operation oil inside therein, and a reset piston slidably mounted on the second end portion of the exhaust rocker arm and protruding out of the second end portion of the exhaust rocker arm according to the supply of reset oil to push the reset valve to expel the operation oil in the brake module outwards.

A valve opening and closing apparatus includes a rocker arm which is in contact with a cam and causes a valve to be opened and closed using rotation of the cam. In particular, the valve opening and closing apparatus includes an eccentricity-creating unit which is disposed on the rocker arm and changes an eccentric position using rotation. A contact-maintaining unit of the valve opening and closing apparatus is disposed between the rocker arm and the eccentricity-creating unit so as to maintain the contact between the cam and the rocker arm when the cam is rotating.

A variable valve lift apparatus includes a rocker arm having a rocker arm shaft penetrating therethrough. One portion of the rocker arm is supported by a cam shaft and another portion thereof contacts an upper end of an intake valve or an exhaust valve to open and close the intake valve or the exhaust valve. An actuator is disposed at an end of the rocker arm and protrudes toward the intake valve or the exhaust valve depending on an oil pressure applied to change an opening of the intake valve or the exhaust valve. A control valve applies the oil pressure to the actuator to maintain an opened state of the intake valve or the exhaust valve when the intake valve or the exhaust valve is closed.

A socket module for a compression release engine brake is provided between an exhaust rocker arm rotating with respect to a rocker arm shaft and a valve bridge in contact with an exhaust valve of an engine. In particular, the socket module includes: a housing which includes an inlet through which brake oil is introduced, a brake piston mounting portion, and a reset member mounting portion communicated with the brake piston mounting portion; a brake piston that is provided to be movable in the brake piston mounting portion; and a reset member that is provided in the reset member mounting portion and that discharges brake oil by selectively contacting a push pin coupled to an upper portion of a cylinder head of the engine.
