Abstract: Embodiments of efeMTC synchronization signals for enhanced cell search and enhanced system information acquisition are described. In some embodiments, an apparatus of a base station (BS) is configured to generate a length-x sequence for an efeMTC synchronization signal, the length-x sequence configured for repetition in frequency domain within 6 physical resource blocks (PRB). In some embodiments, to generate the length-x sequence, the BS may be configured to select any one index of the set of root indices {1, 2, . . . , 63}, excluding the root indices 25, 29 and 34, to correspond to a different physical-layer cell identity (PCID). In some embodiments, the BS may be configured to encode RRC signaling to include a System Information Block (SIB) comprising configuration information for transmission of the efeMTC synchronization signal, and transmit the length-x sequence as the efeMTC synchronization signal in frequency resources according to the SIB.

Abstract: The disclosure describes configuration schemes for secondary cell (SCell), bandwidth part (BWP) and physical resource block (PRB) indexing. An apparatus of user equipment (UE) for BWP activation and deactivation operation is disclosed. The apparatus includes baseband circuitry that includes a radio frequency (RF) interface, and one or more processors. The one or more processors are to receive radio resource control (RRC) data via the RF interface, configure a timer for a BWP according to the RRC data, and trigger the timer for the BWP in response to detection of an event associated with an access node after the BWP has been activated.

Abstract: Timing determination techniques for 5G radio access network cells are described. According to various such techniques, during a random access procedure in a 5G cell, user equipment (UE) may determine slot offset values applicable to various transmissions associated with the random access procedure using procedures that do not rely on UE-specific radio resource control (RRC) signaling. According to some such techniques, during system information acquisition in a 5G cell, a UE may determine applicable slot offset values for one or more system information block (SIB) transmissions using procedures that do not rely on UE-specific radio resource control (RRC) signaling. Abstract: Support of Single-Cell Point-To-Multipoint (SC-PTM) for narrowband (UEs) and low complexity (BL) UEs can is implemented at both the physical layers and the higher layers. For example, in one implementation, a UE may transmit, to a Single-Cell Point-To-Multipoint (SC-PTM) base station, multicast service preference information, including at least one of a Coverage Enhancement (CE) mode or a maximum Transport Block Size (TBS) of the UE. The UE may also monitor a common search space (CSS) of a MTC Physical Downlink Control Channel (MPDCCH) or Narrowband Physical Data Control Channel (NPDCCH) for the scheduling of a Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) or a Narrowband Physical Downlink Shared Channel (NPDSCH), respectively, to obtain downlink control information (DCI) that includes configuration information relating to a Single-Cell Multicast Control Channel (SC-MCCH).

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry configured to decode control information of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) received via a resource within a control resource set (CORESET) occupying a subset of a plurality of OFDM symbols within a slot. At least one of the symbols in the subset coincides with a pre-defined symbol location associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) of a PDSCH. The DM-RS can be detected within the slot, the DM-RS starting at a symbol location that is shifted from the pre-defined symbol location and following the subset of symbols. Downlink data scheduled by the PDCCH and received via the PDSCH can be decoded, where the decoding is based on the detected DM-RS.

Abstract: Narrowband Internet of Things synchronization signals are described that carry offset information. In one example an evolved NodeB (eNB) to performs operations to transmit synchronization signals for time and frequency synchronization between the eNB and user equipments (UEs) for narrowband Internet of things (NB-Iot). The operations include concatenating a plurality of short ZadoffChu (ZC) sequences each having a different root index, the ZC sequences being ordered to indicate an offset for use by a UE, generating an NB-Iot Primary Synchronization Signal (NB-PSS) using the concatenation of short ZadoffChu (ZC) sequences, and transmitting the resulting NB-PSS by the eNB in a periodic manner to the UE, wherein, the offset is identified by the order of the ZC sequences.
