    Abstract: Technologies described herein provide mechanisms for a legacy UE traveling at a high speed (e.g., in a high speed train) to estimate the opposite Doppler shifts separately for different RRHs in an SFN so that the UE can more effectively receive a payload assigned by the SFN. In addition, the present disclosure provides UE signal process mechanisms to improve HST receiver performance such that good demodulation performance can be achieved without significant impacts on UE implementation. The present disclosure provides a specific framework to improve cellular SFN system operation using a combination of an SFN data signal transmissions from different RRHs and orthogonal non-SFN reference signal transmissions from different RRHs. A UE may estimate a propagation channel for each RRH using a reference signal and use this information to improve the demodulation of the combined SFN data signal.

    Abstract: A radio resource management requirement is described for a device-to-device inter-carrier discovery gap. A device to device (D2D) user equipment (UE) interruption requirement can be specified in which the interruption is not allowed. In one example, operations include receiving device-to-device (D2D) discovery data on a D2D discovery data frequency in a receive chain of a user equipment (UE) during a set of subframes, tuning the receive chain of the UE to a wireless access network (WAN) data frequency, and receiving WAN data in the receive chain of the UE on the WAN data frequency from a primary cell (PCell) during the set of subframes, wherein the D2D discovery data is received during a gap in receiving the WAN data without an interruption in the WAN data.

    Abstract: A device, method and system of measuring a position of a user equipment in a wireless network may be disclosed. In some embodiments, a target user device may comprise a communication module to receive a first message from a device in the wireless network, wherein the first message includes position information related to one or more anchor UEs; transmit a second message to the anchor UEs in the wireless network, wherein the second message includes an inquiry about whether a position of at least one of the anchor UEs is knowable to the target UE; and receive a third message from the at least one anchor UE, wherein the third message includes a response to the inquiry indicating that the position of the at least one anchor UE is knowable to the target UE.

    Abstract: Logic may receive an initial communication from a user device, the initial communication comprising capabilities. Logic may determine when the capabilities indicate a requirement for measurement gaps. Logic may determine, when the capabilities for the user device indicate a requirement to implement measurement gaps, a gap pattern to assign to the user device to re-tune one or more radio frequency chains to a wide bandwidth carrier frequency during communications. Logic may transmit information about the gap pattern to the user device. Logic may transmit an initial communication to a base station, the initial communication comprising capabilities. Logic may receive a communication from the base station comprising information about a gap pattern. Logic may receive a synchronization signal to synchronize a wide bandwidth, radio frequency chain. And logic may retune the radio frequency chain during one or more measurement gaps defined by the gap pattern.

    Abstract: Beam measurement reporting circuitry is provided for a user equipment (UE) of a wireless telecommunications network. The beam measurement reporting circuitry receives from the network, beam measurement configuration data and measures signal qualities for a plurality of received beams originating from a beam source of the network (serving and neighbouring cells). Beam measurements are performed by the UE to facilitate identification of a non-zero integer, N, beams depending upon the signal quality measurements. The identified beams can be candidate beams for a handover. Circuitry for a NodeB is also provided. A UE, a NodeB and corresponding methods incorporating the beam measurement reporting circuitry and beam measurement configuration circuitry are also provided.
