    摘要: An approach is described for creating an audio file sample based upon user preferences. An associated method may include detecting selection of an audio file by a user, wherein the selection of the audio file occurs via a communications network and indexing the audio file to create a plurality of indexed segments based upon audio analysis. The method further may include selecting at least one segment among the plurality of indexed segments based upon a profile of the user and incorporating the at least one selected segment into an audio sample having a designated length. Indexing the audio file to create a plurality of indexed segments based upon audio analysis may include, for each audio characteristic among a plurality of designated audio characteristics, creating from the audio file at least one indexed segment corresponding to the audio characteristic.

    摘要: A processor-implemented method constructs and utilizes an ontological graph. One or more processor(s) receive a seed term from a user, and then receive a first expansion signal from the user. In response to receiving the first expansion signal, the processor(s) automatically generate an ontological graph. The processor(s) display terms from the ontological graph as string literals in a dictionary, which contains related other terms at a resolution level that is controlled by the first expansion signal from the user and the seed term. The processor(s) then receive a second expansion signal from the user. In response to receiving the second expansion signal, the processor(s) expand the ontological graph to display additional terms that are related to the nodes represented in the ontological graph that was generated by the first expansion signal.

    摘要: A method for managing memory of a device is disclosed. A computer system collects information about use, by the device, of data in the memory of the device. The information collected by the computer system includes a time and a location for which each portion of the data is used by the device. The computer system identifies patterns of use, by the device, of each portion of the data based on the information collected. The computer system then selects one or more portions of the data that are not needed in the memory of the device based on the patterns of use by the device.

    摘要: Approaches presented herein enable obscuring a query from an external web service provider. More specifically, a user-submitted query is split into at least two non-identical, secondary search queries. The non-identical search queries are submitted to an external web services provider separately, at different times spread throughout a search timeframe, from different virtual locations, thereby obscuring the original search query from the external web services provider. An internal system receives and merges the search results of the non-identical secondary queries from the external web services provider. The internal system then performs a second search on the merged results using the original user-submitted search query to find the results within the merged results that are most relevant to the original query. These relevant results are then presented to the user.

    摘要: Methods and systems may provide for receiving a set of attributes that identify a pegged area of a page delivered to a user interface during a first browsing session and storing the set of attributes. Additionally, the set of attributes may be used to conduct a subsequent delivery of the pegged area to a user interface during a second browsing session, wherein the subsequent delivery of the pegged area excludes portions of the page that are outside the pegged area. In one example, the subsequent delivery is conducted further based on the type of client device participating in the second browsing session.
