A self-propelled robot is disclosed for movement over a surface to be treated. The robot has a power supply (11) and a pair of wheels (8,9) driven by motors (6,7) for moving the robot over the surface. A mechanism (113,115,16) is provided for controllably depositing a fluent material on to the surface. Navigation sensors (4,13,18,21) provide signals for enabling the robot to navigate over the surface and one or more detectors (14,15,17) detect the presence of the material on the surface and provide signals indicative of its presence. A control system (100) receives the signals from the sensors and detectors and controls the motors and the depositing mechanism in dependence upon the signals received from the sensors and detectors.

A clip or bracket releasably mountable to a rail having elongated perforations to retain one or more items in a stored position when not in use. In a simple embodiment, the clip is formed of a continuous length of metal or plastic rod having a pair of parallel legs for insertion through the mounting rail perforation, and a three-sided enclosure which, in cooperation with the surface of the mounting rail, form a four-sided enclosure for retaining the stored item. In a second, preferred embodiment, a bracket is formed with an integral, three-sided wall with one or more latching members affixed to one of the walls for releasably attaching the bracket to the mounting rail with portions of the latching member(s) extending through one of the perforations. In one form, a pair of three-sided retainers are connected to one another with latching member(s) mounted between adjacent walls of the two retainers. The invention has particular utility in the cargo transportation field where the brackets may be mounted to the conventional mounting rails currently in use in many trucks and trailers for supporting likewise conventional load bars to restrain cargo against movement during transport.

A reusable test unit is disclosed for testing the functionality of a portable blood analyzer, and particularly the interface between the high-impedance electrochemical sensors and the instrument. Signals are generated to simulate amperometric, conductimetric, and potentiometric sensors. Circuitry permits detection and discrimination between failures from damaged CMOS amplifiers and failures from leakage currents in contaminated connectors. The test unit may be configured to be insertable into the instrument to fit mechanically in the same fashion as a disposable sensor device. A scheme for three-dimensional routing of guard lines on a circuit board is disclosed for guarding against coupling between closely space traces and connector pads.
