The wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (WDM-PON) having a bus structure includes a central office for downwardly transferring downstream optical signals having different wavelengths through a feeder fiber and for receiving upstream optical signals upwardly transferred through the feeder fiber; a plurality of remote nodes including at least a first remote node connected to the central office through the feeder fiber and a second remote node connected to the first remote node through the feeder fiber, dropping optical signals having corresponding wavelengths from among downwardly-transferred optical signals from the central office to at least one subscriber unit connected to each of the remote nodes, and adding the upstream optical signals, which are upwardly transferred from each subscriber unit, so as to upwardly transfer the upstream optical signals to the central office; and at least one subscriber unit for receiving the optical signals having the corresponding wavelengths dropped from each of the remote nodes and for upwardly transferring the upstream optical signals having different wavelengths through each of the remote nodes.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a bi-directional wavelength division multiplexing self-healing passive optical network including: a central office for multiplexing and transmitting downstream optical signals to a first and a second main fiber; a remote node connected to the central office through the first and the second main fiber, for transmitting multiple pairs of the downstream optical signals, which are obtained by demultiplexing one inputted pair of the multiplexed downstream optical signals according to wavelengths, to corresponding pairs of distribution fibers; and a plurality of optical network units connected to the remote node through the multiple pairs of distribution fibers, each of the optical network units being selectively connected to one corresponding pair of the distribution fibers, for receiving a corresponding downstream optical signal from the selected distribution fiber.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a user input device and a method for rapidly selecting an operation mode in a mobile terminal having a touch screen input panel and a fingerprint recognition sensor. The user input method includes setting operation modes for at least one fingerprint data and input pattern, each comprised of keys necessary to implement a corresponding operation mode; detecting fingerprint data inputted from the fingerprint recognition sensor, and confirming an operation mode set for the inputted fingerprint data; and displaying an input pattern corresponding to the confirmed operation mode on the touch screen input panel.
Abstract:
A centralized control apparatus and a method thereof manages an Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, in which the centralized control apparatus performs Label Switched Path (LSP) setting of the MPLS network and management for set LSP, to reduce a load of the MPLS network generated upon setting LSP and to reduce a time for setting the LSP, and to improve management efficiency for the set LSP.
Abstract:
A self-healing passive optical network is disclosed. The network includes a central office and a remote node connected to the central office through a main optical fiber. The remote node transmits one portion of power of the upstream optical signal, which has been input from each of the optical network units, to the central office, and returning a remaining portion of the power of the upstream optical signal to the optical network unit. The network also includes a plurality of optical network units connected to the remote node through a plurality of distribution optical fibers. Each of the optical network units transmits an upstream optical signal to the remote node through the directly connected distribution optical fiber, and detects abnormality occurrences from a state of the upstream optical signal returning from the remote node.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an audio/video data synchronization apparatus for directly transmitting decoded audio/video data to an external device, without compressing the data, using UWB communication. The apparatus synchronizes video and audio data stored in a terminal without compressing the data and simultaneously transmits the data to an external device using UWB communication, so that users can enjoy high-quality images and sounds. In addition, the receiving end does not necessarily incorporate a separate function for decoding moving images, because it receives uncompressed video/audio data. This makes the apparatus simple and convenient.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for adjusting a ring tone volume in a mobile communication terminal. The method implements a function by which a user can directly adjust the ring tone volume in a mobile communication terminal in consideration of circumstances. To this end, the present invention includes a user interface screen by which a user can adjust the output volume level of the ring tone which rings according to the passage of time. Thus, the present invention provides a user interface screen by which a user can adjust the output volume level of a ring tone which rings according to the passage of time, and enables the user to set the output level of the ring tone and the output time of the ring tone at a corresponding level according to predetermined intervals through the screen.
