Abstract: Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with in-vehicle computing, are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an in-vehicle system computing platform having a hypervisor to host one or more virtual machines (VMs) includes a memory shrink manager, and a memory snapshot manager. The memory shrink manager is configured to orchestrate shrinking a memory footprint of one of the one or more VMs for a suspend process invoked in response to the computing platform being powered off. The memory snapshot manager is configured to save the shrunken memory footprint of the one VM to the persistent storage during the suspend process, and to reload a subset of the saved shrunken memory footprint during a resume process to resume the one VM from suspension to the persistent storage. The resume process is invoked in response to the computing platform being powered on, cold booted.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that collects, by a BIOS (basic input output system), memory information from a first host path to a coherent device memory on a memory expander, wherein the memory expander includes a plurality of host paths, transfers the memory information from the BIOS to an OS (operating system) via one or more OS interface tables, and initializes, by the OS, the memory expander based on the memory information, wherein the memory information includes memory capabilities and configuration settings associated with the memory expander.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture perform an enhanced S3 protocol to update firmware with a Boot Script update are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a management agent to store a firmware update into memory; and request an operating system (OS) to enter into an S3 sleep state; the OS to, in response to the request from the management agent, enter into the S3 sleep state and trigger an interrupt; and a basic input/output system (BIOS) to, in response to the interrupt from the OS update a Boot Script according to the firmware update; and wake up the OS with a wake vector.
