摘要： A display apparatus includes a display panel, a timing controller, data and gate driving parts. The display panel includes first and second substrates, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second substrates, and displays an image. The timing controller includes a data compensating unit that outputs compensated grayscale data in an n-th pixel row, based upon a coupling capacitance generated according to a grayscale data variation between an (n−1)-th pixel row and the n-th pixel row, n′ being a natural number. The data driving part converts the compensated grayscale data to an analog data voltage, and outputs the analog data voltage to data lines.

摘要： The present invention relates to a display device and a driving method thereof. A display device according to exemplary embodiments of the present invention includes: a signal controller to process an input image signal and an input control signal to control output of a digital image signal; a gray voltage generator to generate a gray reference voltage; and a data driver to generate gray voltages based on the gray reference voltage from the gray voltage generator, to receive the digital image signal, and to output a portion selected from the generated gray voltages as a data voltage, wherein the gray reference voltage includes a first gray reference voltage for the input image signal and a second gray reference voltage for an insertion gray, and the gray voltage generator generates one of the first gray reference voltage or the second gray reference voltage according to the selection signal included in the control signal to be provided to the data driver.

摘要： Provided are an image signal compensation apparatus and a liquid crystal display (LCD) including the same. The image signal compensation apparatus includes a lookup table (LUT) and an image signal compensation unit. The LUT includes reference data that corresponds to each combination of first and second reference gray levels and is arranged in a matrix. The image signal compensation unit receives first and second image signals, receives reference data corresponding to the first and second image signals from the LUT, and compensates the second image signal using the reference data. The reference data includes diagonal reference data located on a diagonal line in the matrix, and at least one diagonal reference data from among the diagonal reference data has a different value from a corresponding combination of the first and second reference gray levels.

摘要： A portable terminal is configured to perform a method for feature recognition. The portable terminal includes a Global Positioning System (GPS), a camera, a sensor, an image geographic information part, an image processor, and a controller. The GPS provides a position of the portable terminal. The camera photographs an image of a feature. The sensor detects a direction of the camera. The image geographic information part stores an image of each feature and geographic information on each feature. The image processor extracts a characteristic of the image of the feature and compares the extracted characteristic with image information stored in the image geographic info illation part. If recognizing a specific feature through the image processor, the controller proportionally compares geographic information of the image geographic information part with size and direction data on a peripheral feature near the specific feature within an image, and recognizes the peripheral feature.
