Abstract: A surface-treated steel sheet includes a chemical conversion coating with a thickness of 3.0 μm or less, the chemical conversion coating being placed on a surface of a hot-dip Zn—Al alloy coated steel sheet including a hot-dip Zn—Al alloy coating film containing Al: more than 1.0 mass % and 15 mass % or less, a balance being Zn and inevitable impurities. The chemical conversion coating contains AlH2P3O10.2H2O and a compound containing one or more elements selected from Mg, Ca, and Sr such that a sum of contents of AlH2P3O10.2H2O and the compound is 3.0 mass % to 50 mass %.

Abstract: Provided is a method for manufacturing a zinc-based coated steel sheet having excellent press formability. The method includes an oxide layer-forming step of bringing the zinc-based coated steel sheet into contact with an acidic solution, holding the zinc-based coated steel sheet for 1 second to 60 seconds, and then water-washing the zinc-based coated steel sheet and a neutralization step of holding a zinc-based oxide layer formed in the oxide layer-forming step for 0.5 seconds or more in such a state that a surface of the zinc-based oxide layer is in contact with an alkaline aqueous solution, water-washing the zinc-based oxide layer, and then drying the zinc-based oxide layer. The acidic solution contains HF2Na and/or HF2K in a total amount of 0.10 g/L to 5.0 g/L.

Abstract: Provided is a low-cost cold rolled steel sheet for zirconium-based chemical conversion treatment that contains Si and Mn and has excellent zirconium-based chemical convertibility even when a relatively large amount of Si-based oxide and Si—Mn-based oxide exists on the steel sheet surface. A cold rolled steel sheet for zirconium-based chemical conversion treatment comprises a chemical composition containing, in mass %, C: 0.05% to 0.30%, Si: 0.01% to 1.4%, Mn: 0.14% to 3.2%, P: 0.10% or less, and S: 0.01% or less, with a balance consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities, wherein a Si/Mn mass ratio in steel is 0.10 to 0.7, and a surface coating ratio of steel sheet surface layer oxides having Si content of 10 mass % or more is 40% or less.
