    摘要: Provided is a photo-luminescence (PL) LCD including: electrodes that are disposed on bottom and top surfaces of front and rear substrate and create an electric field in liquid crystals (LCs); a nano-dot (ND) PL layer that is disposed on the bottom surface of the front substrate and emits light when irradiated with ultraviolet (UV) light, and a UV backlight unit that is located behind the rear substrate and supplying UV light to the ND PL layer. The UV backlight unit is excited by blue UV light having a wavelength range of 360 to 460 nm to emit light. The PD LCD having the above-mentioned structure suppresses absorption of UV light by LC and degradation of the LC while providing high light efficiency.

    摘要: A photo-luminescent (PL) liquid crystal display (LCD) including a blue dichroic mirror layer disposed under a light emitting layer is provided. Visible light generated from the light emitting layer is mostly reflected to the front side of the PL LCD, thereby increasing the light utilization efficiency thereof. A blue PL quantum dot layer is formed in blue light regions, thereby improving a narrow viewing angle and an orientation in blue pixels. An ultraviolet (UV) filter blocking UV light in the ambient light is formed to protect the light emitting layer from the excitation caused by external light, thereby preventing degradation of contrast caused by an undesired light emission.

    摘要: A photoluminescent liquid crystal display includes a lower substrate and an upper substrate disposed apart from each other opposite each other, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the lower and upper substrates, a backlight unit disposed under the lower substrate and emitting blue light, a phosphor layer disposed on the upper substrate and excited by the blue light and a color filter layer disposed on the phosphor layer and limiting excitement of the red and green phosphors by ambient light. The phosphor layer includes a red phosphor disposed in a red pixel region and a green phosphor disposed in a green pixel region. The color filter layer includes an R filter disposed on the red phosphor and a green filter disposed on the green phosphor.
