摘要： A method for stabilizing oil is provided. An oil fraction having hydrocarbons with an initial boiling point of about 200.degree. F. to about 1050.degree. F. is hydrotreated to reduce the nitrogen content of the oil fraction to be stabilized. Subsequently, condensed aromatic compounds are selectively extracted from the hydrotreated oil fraction to yield a stable oil fraction.

摘要： A process for producing lipid membrane structures (vesicles or liposomes) is disclosed, wherein a solution of bilayer forming compounds in a narrowly-defined two component solvent system is dispersed in an aqueous solution and, subsequently, at least a portion of that solvent system is stripped off. This process permits the readily-reproducible production of lipid membrane structures under gentle processing conditions, ideal for use when they contain pharmaceutically-active materials.

摘要： An apparatus (30) is disclosed for effective drying of material, such as vegetables, by centrifugal force. The apparatus (30) includes a series of conveyor assemblies (52-58) distributed on a rotating shaft (34). A gear ring (76) can be held stationary while the shaft rotates to move conveyor belts (70) within the apparatus to simultaneously load material to be dried while dried material is removed from the other end of the apparatus. When the conveyor belts are loaded, the shaft and conveyor assemblies can be rotated at a higher rotational velocity to dry the materials for a predetermined period of time.

摘要： A method for dedusting synthetic oil is disclosed. A feed of dust-laden synthetic oil is dissolved in a non-polar solvent of at least one alkane containing from 4 to 7 carbon atoms and aggregates of dust material are formed. The dissolved dust-laden synthetic oil is then gravitationally separated into a substantially dedusted stream in a dust-enriched stream including aggregates formed in the dissolution step. The dissolution and gravitational separation steps are conducted at a temperature and pressure greater than about 150.degree. F. and about ambient pressure and less than about the critical point temperature and pressure of the solvent and the aggregates provide acceptable settling and sludge compression rates. Methods for producing and dedusting oil from synthetic fuel stock are also disclosed.

摘要： A safe deposit-type lock assembly having a fabricated metal cover plate and interchangeable lock noses or insert guides to provide the desired combination of big and little noses. The noses are cast metal provided with a universal size base having locking elements for engaging the cover plate. The locking elements include bayonet-type wings engaging the top surface of the cover plate and locking wedges engaging beneath resilient retainer arms stamped from the cover plate. A locking detent is provided between the retainer arms and the mating locking wedges. The safe deposit door is positioned flush on top of the retainer arms and wings to assure engagement of the detent once the lock is positioned on the back of the door. The heads of the lock plugs are received in the noses providing the desired match for previously installed boxes.

An electric actuator includes an output operative to move the first engagement element to its engageable position. A manually operated rotatable member is operatively coupled to the first engagement element when the first engagement element is in its engageable position. A lock bolt drive mechanism is coupled to the lock bolt and to the first engagement element when the first engagement element is in its engageable position. The movable output moves the first engagement element to its engageable position upon input of correct electronic data. An electricity generator is coupled to the manually operated rotatable member. The electricity powers the electric actuator and an electronic data input device. The manually operated rotatable member is also used to actuate the lock bolt drive mechanism and retract the lock bolt.

The locking mechanism includes a lock-bolt mounted for movement between locked and unlocked positions and a first engagement element having disengaged and engageable positions. A manually operated second engagement element can be engaged with the first engagement element in its engageable position. A lock-bolt drive mechanism is operatively coupled between the lock-bolt and the first engagement element. A slidable element responds to a movement of the manually operated second engagement element and slides linearly between engaged and disengaged positions. The slidable element cooperates with the lock-bolt drive mechanism to enable manual movement of the lock-bolt between the locked and unlocked positions thereof such that the disengaged position of the slidable element corresponds to the locked position of the lock-bolt.
