摘要: The present invention provides a polymer blend suitable for use as a film or a coating, the polymer blend including from 1 to 99% by weight of a metallocene-produced VLDPE polymer having a density less than 0.916 g/cm3, and from 1 to 99% by weight of an LDPE polymer having a density of from 0.916 to 0.928 g/cm3 wherein the sum of (a) and (b) is 100%. The VLDPE polymer can have a melt index of from 6 to 15 dg/min, or from 9 to 12 dg/min. The present invention further provides polymeric films extrusion cast from such polymer blends, and articles having a flexible substrate and a polymeric film extrusion-coated on the substrate

摘要: A very low density polyethylene having a density of 0.890 to 0.915 and a Dart Drop value of at least about 450 g/mil or above is disclosed. Gas phase polymerization methods are also disclosed for making very low density linear polyolefins utilizing a metallocene catalyst, and the resulting polyolefin products. In a specific embodiment, a gas phase polymerization process is disclosed relating to the formation of a linear polyethylene having a very low density, e.g., ranging from 0.890 to 0.915, but with improved toughness.

摘要: Provided are ethylene-based polymer compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of making the same. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include blends of a linear low density polyethylene prepared with metallocene catalyst and a low density polyethylene. The linear low density polyethylene may optionally have about five mole percent or less of monomer units derived from an alpha-olefin comonomer. Articles composed of such ethylene-based polymer compositions, such as blown films, exhibit favorable physical properties, including excellent optical properties and retained strength i.e., mitigation of expected decline in physical strength due to LDPE addition.

摘要: Provided are ethylene-based polymer compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of making the same. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include linear low density polyethylene prepared with metallocene catalyst, which may optionally have about 5 mole percent or less of monomer units derived from an alpha-olefin comonomer. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include blends of linear low density polyethylene and one or more very low density polyethylene compositions, one or more low density polyethylene compositions, one or more medium density polyethylene compositions, one or more high density polyethylene compositions, one or more differentiated polyethylene compositions, or other conventional polymers. Articles composed of such ethylene-based polymer compositions are prepared according to a process window, e.g., at a specific extrusion rates, which provides favorable physical properties, including tear resistance and dart drop properties. Films prepared according to these techniques exhibit physical properties equivalent to, or superior than, conventional linear low density polyethylenes prepared with Ziegler-Natta catalyst.

摘要: Polymer compositions including an ethylene-based polymer having a melt index of from about 0.1 g/10 min to about 5.0 g/10 min; a melt index ratio of from about 15 to about 30; a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from about 20,000 to about 200,000; a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of from about 2.0 to about 4.5; and a density of from 0.900 to 0.920 g/cm3. Films having a thickness of 1 mil show a difference between the maximum seal strength and the minimum seal strength over the ranges of temperatures between 95.0° C. and 140.0° C. of ≦1.00×102 grams/cm.
