    摘要: Polymer composites comprising a water-insoluble polymer and a water-sensitive polymer are disclosed. The water-sensitive polymer is a copolymer polymerized from one or more alkylene oxide monomers and one or more epoxy-functional monomers. The polymer composites can be used in the manufacture of articles having enhanced lubricious-when-wet properties, e.g., wet-shaving devices, and medical devices, e.g., catheters. The articles can provide enhanced retention of lubricity after repeated uses.

    摘要: A primer composition comprises (I) a modified copolymer obtainable by addition of a polar group represented by the following formula (1) or (2) to at least one (co)polymer selected from an olefin (co)polymer, a halogenated olefin (co)polymer, a styrene/conjugated diene/styrene tri-block copolymer or its hydrogenated product and a halogenated styrene/conjugated diene/styrene tri-block copolymer or its hydrogenated product, wherein the modified copolymer contains the polar group in an amount of from 1×10−3 to 250×10−3 mol based on 100 g of the modified copolymer, and (II) an organic solvent; in the formulas (1) and (2), R1 is hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R2 is an alkylene group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n is an integer of 1 to 20. The present invention can provide the primer composition having excellent adhesion between polyolefin molded articles or steel plates, which are substrates (coated objects), and various materials (coating materials, adhesives and the like) and further having excellent storage stability and pigment-loading properties.

    摘要: A process for the production of a propylene based polymer, the process comprising the following steps: (a) a first polymerization stage comprising homopolymerizing propylene or copolymerizing propylene and at least one alpha-olefin in the presence of an alpha-olefin polymerization catalyst whereby to produce a polypropylene component; (b) a second polymerization stage comprising copolymerizing ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin in the presence of an alpha-olefin polymerization catalyst whereby to produce an ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer component; and (c) blending the polymer components produced in steps (a) and (b) whereby to produce a polymer blend, wherein the first and second polymerization stages are effected in separate polymerization reactors connected in parallel. Also provided are polymer compositions comprising: (i) 30 to 97% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer composition, of a propylene based polymer; and (ii) 3 to 70% by weight, preferably 5 to 20% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer composition, of an ethylene copolymer plastomer (e.g., an ethylene-propylene plastomer) containing at least 60% by weight ethylene.

    摘要: What is described is a polymeric hydrogel of a polymeric anhydride or acid, e.g. maleic anhydride or maleic acid polymer, or copolymer thereof, crosslinked with a crosslinking agent containing at least 2 crosslinkable groups, particularly, —OH or —NH2, or both. The reaction product is a crosslinked polymeric ester or amide/imide, or both, suitably having a mole ratio of —OH, or —NH2, to —COOH, of 1:10 to 10:1, preferably 2:10 to 7:1. The hydrogel is particularly swellable in water, e.g. >100% in 1 hour in aqueous media; and forms a thin, tacky layer on a substrate, which property is useful in bioadhesive products.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to methods of making natural or synthetic latex articles without the use of accelerators, thiurams or carbamates. The method includes making an elastomeric material by mixing a base polymer containing carboxylate groups with a carboxylic acid or derivative thereof, a divalent or trivalent metal, an amine or amino compound, and a neutralizing agent. The elastomeric material is formed into a latex article. The present invention is also directed to a latex article made according to this method. The latex article does not contain any accelerators, thiurams or carbamates.
