摘要: Mail aliases are dynamically created in response to replies of an electronic mail (e-mail) communication. An e-mail communication is sent to a plurality of recipients, and one or more recipients of the e-mail communication respond to the e-mail. In response to receiving the replies, one or more mail aliases are automatically created.

摘要: A method, system, and program are provided for dynamically mapping chat session invitation history. A chat controller for facilitating a chat session enables chat participants to invite additional users to join in the chat session. The chat controller dynamically generates a mapping of the chat participants to graphically represent a separate correspondence between each invited additional user and each inviting chat participant. The mapping is displayed within a user interface of a current participant or an invited additional user. Further, the displayed mapping is dynamically updated to reflect additional invitation history as the chat session continues.

摘要: In one embodiment, at least one information control device manages the content displayed on multiple separate portable, content adjustable personal identification devices. The information control device automatically selects at least one content specification for transmission to any portable, content adjustable personal identification devices moving either into or out of a particular area delimited by a boundary secured by the information control device. The information control device then transmits the selected content specification for detection by portable, content adjustable personal identification devices, wherein the content specification directs display of identification content on each of the portable, content adjustable personal identification devices.

摘要: A scroll-based volume controller detects a user selection to scroll through a browser window loaded with data comprising at least one display element, wherein an audio element is associated with the display element and wherein the size of the displayable data is larger than the display area of the browser window. The scroll-based volume controller, responsive to detecting the user selection to scroll through the browser window, calculates a change in position of the display element relative to the browser window. The audio element may include an audio file that is downloaded or streamed to the browser. Next, the scroll-based volume controller automatically adjusts a volume of the associated audio element based on the calculated change in position of the display element relative to the browser window, such that the volume of the audio element, associated with said display element, is automatically adjusted as the position of the display element changes relative to the particular browser window when the user scrolls through the data in the browser window, without the user having to separately select to adjust the volume of the audio element using a separate volume control input.

摘要: Resource utilization information for accessing a file is stored in metadata associated with the file. In response to a command to access the file, the resource utilization information is compared to pre-established warning criteria to determine if the resource utilization for accessing the file meets the criteria for generating a warning. Based on the results of the comparison, a warning message may be output, prior to accessing the file, if results of the comparison indicate that one or more warning criteria are met. The warning message may provide a provide a prompt for a user to determine if he/she still wishes to access the file and if so, the file is accessed; otherwise the operation for accessing the file is terminated prior to the file being accessed.

摘要: A battery conservation component synchronizes with a user's schedule or calendar. The battery conservation component may disable functions or features to ensure that the device has sufficient battery life for selected calendar events. The battery conservation component may warn the user if a battery charge is necessary to make selected calendar events. The battery conservation component may be applied to a wide variety of portable devices with time-sensitive events. For example, the battery conservation component may be applied to a device with vehicle navigation and estimate time-sensitive events based on waypoints in the vehicle's route. The battery conservation component may synchronize with a user's travel itinerary. Alternatively, the battery conservation component may suggest alternative functions or features based on a time-sensitive event, such as suggesting a shorter movie on a flight or road trip.

摘要: An auto-complete controller monitors a window including an auto-complete box for at least one content element of the window. Responsive to detecting the user selection to fill in the auto-complete box, the auto-complete controller accesses a list of selectable entries for filling in the auto-complete box. In addition, the auto-complete controller accesses at least one rule specifying order of the list of selectable entries based on a detected content element. The auto-complete controller reorders the list of selectable entries for output in association with the auto-complete box with a most likely candidate listed first based on the rule specifying order of the list of selectable entries based on the detected content element.

摘要: An Out-of-Office utility provides a notification reminder to an email sender and automatically populates the address field with an email address of a specific backup recipient when the sender composes an email to an out-of-office recipient from whom the sender had previously received an automated out-of-office reply. When an automated out-of-office reply is initially received by the sender's email application, the Out-of-Office utility captures and stores the out-of-office notification data (e.g., sender and recipient e-mail Identifiers (IDs), email recipient's out-of-office dates, backup recipient's email address, and actual notification message). When the sender types in an e-mail ID while composing an email message, the utility scans an up-to-date (current) file of previously received out-of-office information. If there is an email ID match, the utility displays a pop-up window alerting and notifying the sender of the previously received message. The Out-of-Office utility also automatically populates the address field of the email being composed with the backup recipient's e-mail address.
