Abstract: In an IPS-mode liquid crystal display device, the area of a terminal portion is decreased. A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate and a counter substrate attached to the TFT substrate with a sealing material, and includes a display region and a terminal portion formed on the TFT substrate. A shielding transparent conductive film is formed on the outer side of the counter substrate. On the terminal portion, an earth pad formed with a transparent conductive film is formed on an organic passivation film. The shielding transparent conductive film is connected to the earth pad through a conductor. Below organic passivation film of the terminal portion, a wire is formed.

Abstract: It is possible to reduce a size of a lower frame region to ensure a wiring corrosion margin equivalent to that of a conventional technique. In a display device, a video signal wiring arranged in the lower frame region includes, in a region between a terminal section (terminal) and a video signal line, a first wiring formed on a first wiring layer and having one end connected to the terminal section to which a video signal line driving circuit is connected, a second wiring formed on a second wiring layer different from the first wiring layer and having one end connected to the other end of the first wiring, and a third wiring formed on the first wiring layer and having one end connected to the other end of the second wiring. The other end of the third wiring is connected to the video signal line via a fourth wiring formed on the second wiring layer, and the first wiring layer is formed on the side closer to an array substrate than to the second wiring layer.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to protect exposed inspection pads with a conductive tape when the application of resin is ceased and to enhance the reliability of the inspection pads. A liquid crystal display device is provided with a transparent electrode formed on a superficial side of a CF board, a grounded electrode, an inspection pad and a switching device between the inspection pad and a signal line or a scanning line respectively formed in a terminal area a TFT board and a conductive tape that electrically connects the transparent electrode of the CF board, the grounded electrode and the inspection pad respectively of the TFT board.

Abstract: A display device includes a display area and a terminal area formed outside the display area. The display area has a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of video signal lines that cross the scanning lines. The terminal area has a first terminal having a semiconductor chip connected thereto, a first line, a second line, and an inspection thin-film transistor. The inspection thin-film transistor has a gate electrode connected to the first line, a source electrode connected to the second line, and a drain electrode. Abstract: Inspection pads are reduced when there is a need to input a plurality of control signals as inspection control signals. A display device includes: an integrated circuit; a first substrate on which a plurality of signal lines that respectively input the control signals to the integrated circuit, and an inspection pad are formed; and a driver circuit that that is mounted on the first substrate and connected to the plurality of signal lines. The plurality of signal lines include first and second signal lines adjacent to each other. The inspection pad is formed on the one signal line. The second signal line is connected to the inspection pad through a switch element. At the time of inspection, the switch element turns on, and the same control signal is input to the first and second signal lines from the inspection pad.

Abstract: An inspection circuit is properly protected in a display device, in which the driver IC is not on the terminal area. A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate including a display area, a terminal area, and a counter substrate overlapping with the display area of the TFT substrate. The display area includes video signal lines. The seal material adheres the counter substrate and the TFT substrate. The display area is formed in an area surrounded by the seal material. The flexible wiring circuit substrate connects to the terminal area. The driver IC supplies video signals to the video signal line. The driver IC is not installed in the terminal area. The inspection circuit is formed between the display area and the terminal area. The inspection circuit overlaps with the counter substrate in a plan view.
