摘要: A modular kinesiology or physio tape adapted to produce heating or cooling. The tape includes a layer of material having a chamber for retention and release of a removable packet of cooling or heating material and a mechanism for securing the layer directly onto skin of a user. The removable packet of cooling or heating material has dimensions optimized for manual insertion into and removal from the chamber. Preferably, the material is flexible and includes an adhesive for securing the layer to the skin. The material has a first surface for contacting skin, a second surface parallel to the first surface for receiving and retaining the removable packet and an edge between the first and second surfaces. In one embodiment, multiple slits are provided in the second surface having dimensions adapted to receive and retain said packet. In yet another embodiment, a heating packet is implemented with a button/coin type battery circuit with an optional mechanism for controlling the generation of heat thereby.

摘要: An inductive heating system including a tape with a mechanism for securing a physio tape to the body of a user. An inductive heating element is mounted on or in the tape and is adapted to receive magnetic energy from a remote inductive heating source. In one embodiment, the system further includes a control system operationally coupled to the heating source. A user interface is coupled to the control system to set a temperature profile of the system as a function of time. A first transceiver is coupled to the control system to communicate the program to a second transceiver remotely mounted at the tape. The second transceiver mounted on the tape receives information from a temperature sensor mounted on the tape and sends on and off signals to back to the control system to regulate the flow of energy to the tape and thereby execute the temperature regulation program. The inductive heating source may be mounted in a stationary frame or a mobile wireless platform.

摘要: A flexible adhesive kinesiology/physio tape of the present invention adapted adapted to provide thermo-dynamic cooling. In a most general embodiment, the inventive tape includes flexible adhesive kinesiology or physio tape with thermal cooling properties including: a first layer of flexible adhesive high quality porous fabric; a second layer of flexible self-adhesive or skin adhesive high quality porous fabric; and a third layer of flexible endothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. In the illustrative embodiment, the tape is a sheet of high quality porous fabric with a blend of cotton, latex or nylon and the third layer is constructed with reactants effective to cause an endothermic chemical reaction. A breakable barrier separates the reactants so cooling can be initiated at any point by manually breaking the barrier. The third layer can be implemented with liquid, with sealed borders, or with solid reactants that could be saturated or interwoven with reactants.

摘要: A flexible adhesive kinesiology/physio tape adapted to produce heat from the exothermic oxidation when exposed to air. The inventive tape includes a layer of porous material with iron and salt disposed therein. In the best mode, the layer is flexible and self-adhesive. A layer of plastic is included to inhibit oxidation prior to application and use. In a preferred embodiment, the inventive flexible adhesive tape includes a first layer of flexible adhesive high quality porous fabric; a second layer of flexible adhesive high quality porous fabric; and the layer of flexible exothermic material, sandwiched between the first and second layers. The third layer can be fabricated with cellulose, iron, water, activated carbon, vermiculite and salt or fabricated with a mixture of chemical salt in dry crystal form with water. Or any other chemical mixture that creates an exothermic reaction.

摘要: A flexible adhesive kinesiology or physio tape adapted to provide heating as well as cooling in response to an electrical signal. In a general illustrative embodiment, the inventive tape includes a first layer of flexible high quality porous fabric; a pad of electrocaloric polymeric material mounted on the layer of porous fabric; and a controller, mounted on the tape, for electrically actuating the pad of electrocaloric material. In the best mode, plural pads of polarized electrocaloric polymer film are provided with nanotube electrodes mounted therebetween. The first layer of porous fabric includes plural arrangements for retaining the plural pads and providing male and female electrical connections thereto. A bus is mounted on the first layer for providing electrical connection between the controller and the electrical connections to the pads of film. In the best mode, a second layer of porous fabric is included to sandwich the pads between the first layer of porous fabric and the second layer of porous fabric.
