摘要: A control system for a water heater generally includes a water heater controller configured to receive upper and lower sensor temperatures associated with water in the respective upper and lower portions of the tank. The water heater controller is configured to determine a value indicative of a portion of water in the tank at a desired set-point temperature as a function of the upper sensor temperature, the lower sensor temperature, and the desired set-point temperature. The water heater controller is configured to wirelessly transmit at least one signal indicative of said value indicative of the portion of water in the tank at the desired set-point temperature. A user interface includes a plurality of selectively illuminated segmented portions. The user interface is configured to receive said value from the water heater controller and to selectively illuminate a number of segmented portions representative of said value.

摘要: A control for a water heater is provided that comprises a pressure switch for sensing a predetermined level of airflow sufficient for maintaining proper burner operation, and a temperature sensing means for sensing the temperature of the water in the tank. The control further comprises a processor for controlling the operation of the burner to maintain the water temperature above a predetermined value. When the processor receives a signal from the pressure switch or temperature switch indicating a malfunction, the processor shuts down the burner and subsequently attempts to restart the burner. The processor will lock-out further burner operation after a predetermined number of consecutive shut downs occurs, and will communicate any malfunction information to a remote display device.

摘要: One or more embodiments of a controller for controlling a fuel-fired water heater are provided that are able to detect a high rate of temperature change condition in the water heater tank. The fuel fired water heater appliance having a water storage vessel comprises a surface mount sensor disposed on the outer surface of the storage vessel near the bottom of the vessel, for sensing the temperature of the vessel. The controller monitors the rate of change of the temperature sensed by the surface mount sensor during a heating cycle, and discontinues operation of the water heater appliance upon detecting an increase in the rate of temperature change that is indicative of an undesirable level of sediment build-up in the water storage vessel.

摘要: A microprocessor-controlled triac switching circuit for an igniter, having line voltage and igniter current input signals to a microprocessor for determining power to the igniter. Upon determining the line voltage, the microprocessor selects from a look-up table a corresponding triac-switching sequence intended to drive the igniter to a power level proven to ignite gas. The igniter current resulting from the switching sequence is fed to the microprocessor, which determines the actual power and an offset value. The offset enables adjustment by shifting sequences, to achieve the pose level at which the igniter is proven to ignite gas.

摘要: A fluid level sensor and drain fitting is provided that includes a fitting body having a first annular end, a second external-threaded end with an opening therein, and a passage extending from the opening to the first annular end. The drain fitting further includes a plurality of sensors forming an array on the second external-threaded end radially spaced around the opening such that at least one sensor is above the centerline of the opening regardless of the rotational position of the fitting. Each of the sensors are configured to provide an output that changes in response to contact with water. The plurality of sensors are configured to detect a water level relative to the opening in the fitting body based on the number of sensors in the array that provide an output indicative of contact with water.

摘要: A microcomputer-based spark ignition gas burner control system includes program logic to ensure compatibility of spark ignition and a microcomputer. The program logic provides for periodically re-defining the I/O (input/output) ports so as to negate the adverse effect of any electrical noise generated in the system. The program logic also provides, during ignition, a cyclically re-occurring finite time period during which sparking occurs followed by a finite time period during which flame detect circuit means is enabled. The system further includes a fault-tolerant spark generating circuit to ensure that sparking is inhibited during times that the combustion chamber is being purged of any combustible mixture.

The monitoring device measures an aggregate current supplied to a plurality of components of the HVAC system and transmits current data based on the measured aggregate current. The server receives the transmitted current data and, based on the received current, assesses whether a failure has occurred in a first component of the plurality of components of the HVAC system and assesses whether a failure has occurred in a second component of the plurality of components of the HVAC system.
