Abstract: This application relates to a building energy analysis and management system for measurement and verification of building performance. The system can analyze, optimize, manage, maintain, trouble shoot, and/or modify building systems, such as HVAC systems, in connection with the building energy usage. Measurements may be gathered for one or more HVAC units coupled to pressure independent valves, and sent to one or more Surge Panels that pass data to remote analysis servers, which can receive other system or external data. The analysis servers compare measurements to predicted values and can standardize the predicted values to account for external conditions. The comparison can result in difference values used to generate probable causes and optimization recommendations. The system outputs reports or other data display using a graphical user interface that can be adjusted for an anticipated user.

Abstract: A load control system may include control devices for controlling electrical loads. The control devices may include load control devices, such as a lighting device for controlling an amount of power provided to a lighting load, and input devices, such as a remote control device configured to transmit digital messages comprising lighting control instructions for controlling the lighting load via the lighting device. The remote control device may communicate with the lighting device via an intermediary device, such as a hub device. The remote control device may detect a user interface event, such as a button press or a rotation of the remote control device. The remote control device or the hub device may determine whether to transmit digital messages to as unicast messages or multicast messages based on the type of user interface event detected.

Abstract: A building device includes a plurality of sensors, a display device, and a control circuit. The display device includes a user interface having a set of indicator lights. The display device further includes a plurality of touch-sensitive buttons configured to receive a user input. The control circuit is configured to receive configuration information relating to a preset setpoint value, a maximum setpoint value, and a minimum setpoint value. The control circuit is further configured to receive a user input relating to a temperature adjustment for increasing a current setpoint value or decreasing the current setpoint value. The control circuit is further configured to configure an output of the set of indicator lights to provide a visual representation of the temperature adjustment by associating the current setpoint value with activation of at least one of the indicator light of the set.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system, method, and computer program product that employs high dynamic range (HDR) image processing and manipulation algorithms for capturing and measuring real-time sky conditions for processing into control input signals to a building's automated fenestration (AF) system, daylight harvesting (DH) system and HVAC system. The photometer comprises a color camera and a fitted fish-eye lens to capture 360-degree, hemispherical, low dynamic range (LDR) color images of the sky. Both camera and lens are housed in a sealed enclosure protecting them from environmental elements and conditions. In some embodiments the camera and processes are controlled and implemented by a back-end computer.

Abstract: An HVAC system with an integrated source of outdoor air is provided. In one embodiment, an HVAC system includes an outdoor unit, having a compressor and a heat exchanger, and a ventilation unit to receive and provide outdoor air to a structure. The ventilation unit has a blower, a dehumidifying coil, and a reheat coil installed in a housing. The HVAC system also includes a first electronic expansion valve coupled outside the housing of the ventilation unit to control refrigerant flow into the dehumidifying coil and a second electronic expansion valve coupled outside the housing of the ventilation unit to control refrigerant flow into the reheat coil. An electronic expansion valve controller is connected to control operation of the first electronic expansion valve and the second electronic expansion valve. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: An air purifier filter system comprises an air purifier filter unit and a machine readable identifier which provides information concerning the filter unit type and performance information specific to a target pollutant to be filtered by said air purifier filter unit from a plurality of different pollutants that can be filtered by that filter unit type. This information can be used to provide an end of life prediction for the filter unit or provide advice that the filter should be changed for other reasons. This enables the user to be given advance warning, and to be given instructions when it is time to change the filter unit. The instructions to change the filter unit may be more accurate than a simple timer as they can take account of the type of filter unit and the performance information. In some examples the use history of the filter unit may also be used to predict the time when it should be changed.

Abstract: Techniques for energy management including enrollment using verification technology. In some implementations, a computing device receives applicant data to execute an enrollment application for an applicant applying for a particular energy management program. The computing device receives grid operator data from a grid operator to verify against the applicant data. The computing device determines whether the applicant data verifies to the grid operator data. The computing device generates an enrollment recommendation that corresponds to the applicant for the particular energy management program in response to determining whether the applicant data verifies to the grid operator data. The computing device provides the enrollment recommendation to a grid operator for review of whether to accept or reject the applicant to the particular energy management program.
