摘要: Embodiments of a lighting apparatus with a light source using one or more light emitting diodes (LEDs) to generate light. In one embodiment, the lighting apparatus comprises a light diffusing assembly that generates an optical intensity profile consistent with incandescent lamps. The light diffusing assembly comprises an envelope and a reflector element having frusto-conical member and an aperture element disposed therein. The lighting apparatus can also comprise a heat dissipating assembly with a plurality of heat dissipating elements disposed annularly about the envelope. In one example, the heat dissipating elements are spaced apart from the envelope to promote convective heat dissipation.

摘要: Embodiments of a lamp are described that use light emitting diodes (LEDs) to generate an intensity distribution that is consistent with incandescent lamps. In one embodiment, the lamp comprises a diffuser having a spheroid geometry with a light reflective upper portion and a light transmissive lower portion. The lamp also includes a thermal management system with a plurality of optically active heat dissipating elements disposed annularly about the diffuser. In one example, the heat dissipating elements are spaced apart from the diffuser to promote convective heat dissipation.

摘要: A trough reflector for a lighting system is disclosed, wherein the trough reflector produces a lighting pattern having a stepped horizontal cut-off, maximizes collection efficiency, and minimizes undesirable beam patterns. The trough reflector includes a reflective surface having a substantially parabolic curvature for directing light, wherein the reflective surface is split into a first portion and a second portion. The second portion offset relative to the first portion of the trough reflector. The trough reflector further includes a plurality of reflective side walls disposed adjacent the reflective surface, wherein the reflective side walls cooperate with the reflective surface to direct light rays to form a desired lighting pattern.

摘要: An LED headlamp is disclosed, wherein the headlamp is a replacement for a seven inch headlamp. The headlamp includes a housing adapted to replace any conventional seven inch round headlamp, a first light source adapted to be coupled to a source of electrical energy, a second light source adapted to be coupled to a source of electrical energy, a first optical system disposed adjacent the first light source, wherein the first optical system is adapted to provide a low beam lighting pattern, a second optical system disposed adjacent the second light source, wherein the second optical system is adapted to provide a high beam lighting pattern, and a cover lens coupled to the housing for enclosing the first light source, the second light source, the first optical system, and the second optical system within the housing.

摘要: A condenser lens and a headlamp assembly employing the condenser lens improves control over the beam spread characteristics, while at the same time reduces the package size of the headlamp assembly. The condenser lens is provided for a projector-type headlamp assembly having a light source emitting light which is projected longitudinally downstream in front of a motor vehicle. The condenser lens generally includes a main body of light transmitting material. The main body defines a first surface receiving light from the light source and a second surface emitting the light. The second surface has at least one facet structured to spread the light and provide a predetermined beam pattern.

The main body has a light-emitting face, a light-collecting face disposed opposite the light-emitting face, and a plurality of focal points, the latter of which form a focal ring. A central axis extends through the light-collecting face and the light-emitting face. The main body is substantially radially symmetrical about the central axis and the focal ring extends around the central axis of the main body of the lens.

摘要: A lens assembly for use with a light source and including an inner lens and a light directing portion. The inner lens collects light rays from the light source through a light-collecting face and emits at least a portion of the light rays radially through a series of collimators. The light directing portion may be an outer lens having light-collecting faces and light-distributing faces. The light-collecting faces correspond with the collimators and distribute the light rays through light-distributing faces. The light direction portion may alternatively be an outer reflector. The reflector has a plurality of light-reflecting surfaces, corresponding to the collimators, and configured to reflect the light rays emitted from the collimators.

摘要: A LED bulb and light module utilizes a LED light source and directs light therefrom in a manner which improves efficiency and illumination. Ideally, the LED bulb is structured to create a virtual image whereby the efficiency of light directed out of the module is greatly improved, even with a single LED light source. The LED bulb generally includes a light pipe receiving light from the LED light source and guides the light downstream to a downstream portion which redirects the light radially outwardly.
