    摘要: Disclosed is a method of dynamical frequency selecting for a basic service set established by a main wireless device in a wireless local area network. The method comprises steps of a determining step for determining whether a new channel to be used by said BSS is needed; a scanning step conducted by said main wireless device for scanning all channels based on a random priority to detect whether other adjacent BSSs are existing and performing DFS concurrently; a measuring step conducted by said main wireless device based on the scanning result for exisitn operational BSSs for measuring channel quality of a plurality of channels; selecting one channel based on the channel quality parameters. The present invention advantageously provides a dynamic frequency selection method without any modification for the IEEE 802.11 standard, or any requirement for the implementation of the wireless stations.

    摘要: An approach is provided for supporting transmission in a multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) communication system including a plurality of terminals. A preamble portion of a frame is transmitted by a multiple transmit antennas of a hub using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) to the terminals over a channel, wherein each of the terminals determines a characteristic of the channel with respect to the transmit antennas as feedback information. The hub receives the feedback information from the terminals. The hub selects, according to the feedback information, a subset of the antennas for transmission of a remaining portion of the frame to the terminal.

    摘要: An approach for electronically performing beam steering is disclosed. For electronic scanning, an n-bit quantized phase shifting approach is employed at each array element of a phased array antenna. By applying an initial phase bias, either deterministically or randomly, in each of the array elements, the performance of a phased array with n-bit quantization (even with n=2) approaches the performance of a system with no quantization. This approach can be used with linearly polarized or circularly polarized waves. For circularly polarized waves, the 2n phase shifts required of n-bit quantization are achieved in a manner that provides a simple, low-loss construction, which allows production of a low-cost reflectarray or a flat-plate lens.

The power down controller includes a main system, a main system power source, and a PDC power source. The method includes the steps of: (A) receiving power from the PDC power source, determining if the main system is to be activated, and proceeding to step (B) if affirmative; (B) turning on the main system power source, and activating the main system; (C) determining if operation in a power down mode is intended, and proceeding to step (D) if affirmative; and (D) turning off the main system power source to operate in the power down mode. Further, a state parameter is stored that allows the main system to be restored to the operating state prior to a power interruption.
