摘要： Information is entered and validated by the operator of a dialysis machine by converting the entered information into a first form using a first conversion relationship such as ASCII. The information in the first form is next converted into a second form using a second conversion relationship, such as floating point numeric. Thereafter the information in the second form is converted back to the first form using the first conversion relationship. The information in the first form which resulted from the third conversion is displayed for acceptance for rejection by the operator. The multiple sequential conversions indicate the proper functionality of a safety system of the dialysis machine. Displaying the information resulting from sequential multiple conversions assures an opportunity for the operator to evaluate the entries for accuracy. Re-display of the previously entered information repeatedly presents the operator with an opportunity to recognize human-induced errors.

摘要： Apparatus and methods are provided for use with printers and imaging apparatus. An actuator is supported on a shaft about which it can rotate through a range of arc. A spring biases the actuator so as to bring a valve pad into sealing contact with a plurality of nozzles. A lever arm of the actuator is operable by way of force contact so as to rotate the actuator and angularly displace the valve pad out of contact with the nozzles. Simultaneous opening or closing of the nozzles is performed by way of corresponding angular displacements of the actuator.

摘要： A fluid cartridge for a printing device includes a housing including a floor, a chamber defined in the housing and configured to store an ink therein, a capillary medium disposed in the housing and in operative communication with the chamber, and a wick disposed at least partially in an opening of the floor, the wick including a portion extending a predetermined distance into the housing such that the wick portion contacts the capillary medium. The fluid cartridge further includes an enriched pigment-confining member established inside the housing such that the confining member physically contacts the floor and surrounds at least a portion of a periphery of the wick. The confining member is configured to i) block enriched ink from the wick, and/or ii) dilute the enriched ink prior to flowing through the wick.

A network provider installs and/or operates a plurality of access points at locations of a retail entity. Each access point may provide services such as Internet access, and/or content such as audio, video, text, and/or graphics, among other types of services. A carrier, such as a telephone or cable company, may compensate the network service provider for installation and operation of the access points. The carrier may in turn charge its subscribers for network access at the retail entity locations. A plurality of different carriers may provide compensation and allow respective subscriber access. The network access points may be configured to allow each carrier to present a point of presence to its subscribers at the retail entity locations. The installed network may also provide service for retail entity back office functions.
