The LaTaO4 photocatalyst prepared by this method is useful in photolysis of water.

For other embodiments, all electromagnetic conductive components of the upper housing (414, 514, 614) are restricted to an area adjacent to an ear piece (104, 504, 604) of the upper housing.

The wireless communication device may include a housing and an arcuate earmount coupled to the housing. The earmount may be configured so that it includes an overhanging portion and a hinge portion, the hinge portion electrically and mechanically coupling the earmount to the housing. A proximity sensor can be positioned on the overhanging portion and configured to detect proximity of a user's skin behind the user's ear. The sensor location for earmounted devices can provide that the sensor may be trapped between the user's ear auricle and the user's head as the earmount sits down on the top portion of the ear, which may result in accurate sensing activation. The device may be further configured to, for example, change a state based on whether the proximity sensor detects proximity.

A clothes washing machine includes a water drain having a motor-actuated valve. The motor drives first and second rotatable members in a common first direction until the second rotatable member reaches a drain-opening position for actuating a drain-opening mechanism to open the drain valve. Simultaneously, an electric switch is operated to temporarily de-energize the motor in order to keep the valve open for a predetermined period. After the motor restarts (i.e., once the draining has been completed) the first and second motors are again rotated in the common first direction until a cam on the second rotatable member engages a fixed cam. The cam on the second rotatable member rides on the fixed cam to disengage the second movable member for rotation relative to the first rotatable member in a second direction to reclose the drain valve.

The printed circuit board (152) includes an opening (162) shaped to accept the filter (102) and bracket (132) when inserted therein. Transmission lines (156 and 157) are disposed on tabs (158 and 159) and are reflow soldered to the corresponding electrodes (106 and 107) of the filter. The bracket (132) includes two tabs (134) which are reflow soldered to grounded portions of the circuitry on the top side of the printed circuit board (152).
