    摘要: A shape memory alloy actuator includes a housing, a plunger, a shaft, a resilient member, and a shape memory alloy component. The plunger is slidably but non-rotatably received in the housing and has a first locking component. The shaft has a second locking component. The resilient member is positioned to slidably urge the plunger into a disengagement position of the first and second locking components allowing rotation of the shaft. The shape memory alloy component is positioned to slidably urge the plunger into an engagement position of the first and second locking components, when the shape memory alloy component is heated, preventing rotation of the shaft. In one application, the first and second locking components are interdigitable vehicle-parking-brake latch teeth.

    摘要: A motor assembly, such as an electro-mechanical-brake (EMB) motor assembly includes an electric motor, a latch gear, a solenoid, and a spring. The latch gear is non-rotatably attached to the drive shaft of the motor. The spring is operatively connected to the solenoid and has a spring projection which is longitudinally-deflectable by energizing the solenoid. The gear tooth is shaped to longitudinally retain the spring projection when the latch gear rotates the gear tooth into engagement with the longitudinally-deflected spring projection. In one example, the latch gear is a parking-brake latch gear and the motor assembly provides a parking brake function for an EMB electric motor which also is used for applying and releasing a vehicle's driving brakes.

    摘要: An electro-hydraulic braking system for a vehicle is provided including, in a preferred embodiment, a master cylinder, an alpha first pressure transducer providing a signal in response to the pressure of the fluid delivered by the master cylinder, an accumulator for accepting fluid from the master cylinder, an electric actuator for delivering and relieving pressurized fluid to the brake in response to the alpha pressurizer transducer in a normal mode of operation, an isolation valve isolating the master cylinder from the wheel brake when the braking system is in a normal braking mode and exposing the master cylinder with the wheel brake during an occurrence of an electric failure, and an accumulator shut-off valve to diminish the capacity of the accumulator when the master cylinder is exposed to the wheel brake due to an electric failure.

    摘要: A clutch vibration damper for a clutch disposed within an automatic transmission torque converter, wherein the damping between the clutch hub and the clutch pressure plate is provided by frictional drag resulting from the clutch damper being applied simultaneous with clutch engagement. The damper is rotatively locked to the clutch hub through engaging lugs. The clutch damper is frictionally engaged to the pressure plate by the apply fluid pressure which forces the pressure plate to engage the torque converter input shell.

The fluid reservoir can be bled and filled to the desired brake fluid level through a sealable passage in the reservoir cap assembly without removing the reservoir cap.
