摘要: In a brake control system (10), a reservoir switch (60) detects a decrease in the amount of hydraulic fluid in a reservoir tank (26). An ECU (100) switches a master cutoff valve (22), a pressure increase valve (40), and a pressure decrease valve (42) and the like between open and closed. When a decrease in the amount of hydraulic fluid in the reservoir tank (26) is detected, the ECU (100) opens the master cutoff valve (22) to supply hydraulic fluid from a right front-wheel wheel cylinder (20FR) and a left front-wheel wheel cylinder (20FL) to a master cylinder (14), when release of a brake pedal (12) is detected.

摘要: A brake fluid reservoir (10) for a vehicle hydraulic brake system has a filler neck (16), a lid (18) which closes the filler neck, and a device for pressure compensation between the reservoir interior and the ambient atmosphere. In order, when the brake fluid reservoir (10) is in a steeply inclined position, to prevent an escape of brake fluid, in the lid (18) a first brake fluid forced-flow channel (32) is formed, which has an inlet (34) at the inside of the lid and an outlet (36) towards the outside of the lid. The forced-flow channel (32) extends between the inlet (34) and the outlet (36) along a curved path, which in relation to a plan view of the lid (18) runs through at least two quadrants.

摘要: A master cylinder (12) having a switch (70) which is activated by either a magnet (78) carried by a float (76) in a reservoir (40) or a pin (66) moved by a differential area piston (52). The switch (70) had a first blade (82) connected a source of electrical current (106) through an indicator light (124) and a second blade (88) connected to an electrical ground (114). A reed switch (100) is connected to the first (82) and second (88) blades and responds to the magnet to close an electrical circuit to operate the indicator light (124) if a low fluid level is present in the reservoir (40). A first contact (96) on the first blade (82) is positioned in switch 70 by a non-electrical conductive actuation pin (66) that extends through the housing (22) of the master cylinder (12). A second contact (94) on the second blade ( 88) has a projection (92) that engages the housing (22) of the master cylinder (12) to define a fixed location for the first contact (94) and establish a fixed gap between the first (94) and second (96) contacts. If a pressure differential is created in the master cylinder (12) between the fluid pressure supplied to operate the wheel brakes (18) and (20), the differential area piston (52) moves and brings the second contact (96) into engagement with the first contact (94) to close the electrical circuit and activate the indicator light (124).

摘要: An improved quick fill type master cylinder having a structure in which a piston consisting of a smaller diameter piston portion and a larger diameter piston portion is slidably fitted into a stepped cylinder bore to define a hydraulic pressure chamber as well as a hydraulic oil supply chamber therein, a relief port opening to the hydraulic pressure chamber and a supply port opening to the hydraulic oil supply chamber are placed in communication with an oil reservoir via a hydraulic oil flow passage formed longitudinally in a cylinder casing, and a valve device is incorporated in the hydraulic oil flow passage. The hydraulic oil flow passage is formed by drilling and the like from the rear end face of the cylinder casing and a valve chamber of the valve device is provided in the oil flow passage near outside opening thereof. In this valve chamber are disposed a pressure responsive valve and a one-way valve, constituting the valve device, so as to be movable for open and close almost along a center axis of the oil flow passage. A blind plug is fitted to the outside opening of the oil flow passage as an end wall of the valve chamber.

摘要: A tandem master cylinder for an automobile disclosed herein includes a cylinder body having a cylinder bore, a first and a second pistons slidable in the cylinder bore and axially apart from each other, a first and a second power chambers defined, independently from each other, in the cylinder bore by the first and second pistons, and an auxiliary reservoir formed integrally with the cylinder body at its upper side adjacent the first power chamber. The auxiliary reservoir has a first and second reservoir chambers separated from each other by a partition and both connected with a main reservoir. The first power chamber is connected with the first reservoir chamber through a pair of first vent and supply ports. The second power chamber is connected with the second reservoir chamber through an oil passage which is formed in the cylinder body and which uprises in the direction from the latter to the former.

The main portion is so shaped that one space defined by one cross section taken along one line normal to the central axis of the main portion, viewing from the top along the central axis is substantially equal to, or includes, another space defined by another cross-section taken along another line normal to the central axis of the main portion, the one cross-section being nearer the opening, and the fluid paths are so shaped that a further space defined by a futher cross-section taken along a further line normal to the central axis of the main portion at the bottom includes at least respective one parts of the cross-sections of the fluid paths at the bottom of the main portion.

摘要: A plastic compensating reservoir for hydraulic brake systems, such as for brake systems of automotive vehicles, is provided with two interconnected brake fluid chambers which are in communication each other over one port for connection to each one pressure chamber of a tandem master cylinder. To enable manufacture of a like compensating reservoir by one single injection molding process, there is provided a tube which extends transversely to the reservoir's vertical axis and which projects from one of the brake fluid chambers, the said projecting end being adapted to be closed.
