摘要： An article of manufacture for dispensing an adhesive material, such as a synthetic or semi-synthetic polymerizable or cross-linkable monomer material, includes a container body, and a porous applicator tip having a proximal end that is attached to the container body, and a distal end located away from the container body, wherein the adhesive material is located in the container body in a non-contacting relationship with the applicator tip prior to dispensing the material. A flow pattern of the adhesive material within or on the applicator tip is controlled by providing one or more cuts in the applicator tip to alter flow properties of the adhesive material through the applicator tip.

摘要： An applicator/dispenser assembly for dispensing and/or applying an adhesive material comprises: a first body portion and a second body portion, at least one of the first and second body portions being movable relative to the other of the first and second body portions; a cavity in at least one of the first and second body portions; and a piercing or breaking member arranged on one of the first and second body portions. Movement of one of the first and second body portions relative to the other of the first and second body portions moves the piercing or breaking member into the cavity. When a container of adhesive material is at least partially disposed within the cavity, movement of one of the first and second body portions relative to the other moves the piercing or breaking member to rupture the container for dispensing and/or applying the adhesive material.

摘要： A disposable applicator includes a generally tubular applicator body having a closed proximal end and an open distal end and a frangible vial inside. The proximal end is covered by a drying swab while the distal end is covered by an applicator swab that is in open communication with the interior of the applicator body. Within the applicator body is a frangible vial containing a biomedically useful liquid composition, such as an &agr;-cyanoacrylate adhesive, a medicament, or both. The applicator is useful for applying liquid compositions to target sites such as tissue, particularly sites of topical pathology, such as stomatitis lesions.

摘要： A polymerizable 1,1-disubstituted ethylene formulation applicator includes polymerizable 1,1-disubstituted ethylene monomer. According to one embodiment, the monomer is surrounded by a container that may be engaged with an applicator tip The applicator tip has an internal cavity defined in an applicator tip body. A female fitting at an open end of the applicator tip body is in fluid communication with the cavity. A porous material member is connected to the applicator tip body to be in fluid communication with the internal cavity. The applicator tip may include a valve member disposed between the internal cavity and the porous material member. Also, the applicator tip may include a piercing or breaking member disposed substantially within the internal cavity. The container of monomer includes a male fitting that may be engaged with the female fitting of the applicator tip to form the applicator. The container also may include a polymerizable 1,1-disubstituted ethylene impervious barrier that may be pierced or broken by the piercing or breaking member when the male fitting is engaged with the female fitting. Depending on the particular application and the particular formulation, bioactive agents, viscosity modifiers, initiators, inhibitors and/or stabilizers may be added to the applicator, preferably in or on the porous material member. The container and one or more applicator tips form an applicator kit. Methods of applying a polymerizable 1,1-disubstituted ethylene formulation employ the various embodiments of the applicator tip, the applicator and the applicator kit, especially for the treatment of lacerated, burned, ulcerous, and laser-ablated tissues.
