    摘要: A fuel leakage prevention system for preventing undesired leakage of fuel into the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine equipped with a pressure/time, cam actuated unit fuel injection system. The system includes a main housing containing an evacuatable chamber adapted to be connected by a first fluid conduit to a source of sub-atmospheric pressure by a check valve and manual shut off valve. The evacuatable chamber is also adapted to be fluidically connected to a common rail supplying fuel to the injectors by a solenoid controlled valve which is open during engine shutdown and closed during engine operation whereby fuel is withdrawn from the injectors by the vacuum upon engine shutdown.

    摘要: A process for producing sugar from beets includes the step of filtering a sucrose-containing feed juice, which has been obtained by diffusion from sliced sugar beets, through a first ultrafiltration membrane that has a first molecular weight cutoff. This ultrafiltration step produces a first ultrafiltration permeate and a first ultrafiltration retentate. The first ultrafiltration permeate is filtered through a second ultrafiltration membrane that has a second molecular weight cutoff that is lower than the first molecular weight cutoff. This second ultrafiltration step produces a second ultrafiltration permeate and a second ultrafiltration retentate. The second ultrafiltration permeate is nanofiltered through a nanofiltration membrane, thereby producing a nanofiltration permeate and a nanofiltration retentate. The nanofiltration retentate has a higher concentration of sucrose on a dry solids basis than the feed juice in step (a), and can be used in evaporation and crystallization operations to produce crystals of white sugar. The process can optionally include ion exchange and/or electrodialysis purification steps, prior to or after the nanofiltration step. Recycle syrups can be treated with enzyme or a chromatographic separator to remove raffinose.

The printed didactic material controls the display of the multimedia material. Either preexisting didactic printed material or currently created didactic printed material can be efficiently and economically integrated with multimedia materials to display certain selected multimedia materials at sensitive places of the printed materials.

    摘要: An apparatus for handling and conveying packages includes a conveyor frame for housing a combination roller-slider bed and a belt mounted on the combination roller-slider bed to define a package-supporting conveyor surface. The conveyor drive includes a drive pulley in contact with the belt, a gearbox coupled directly to the drive pulley and an electric motor coupled directly to the gearbox. The shaft of the drive pulley is designed to fit within the output shaft of the gearbox. The motor and gearbox are mounted adjacent to but outside of the conveyor frame. Electrical or mechanical system associated with the apparatus controls the speed and acceleration of the belt.

    摘要: A stage of an axial flow turbine includes a plurality of spaced apart buckets and a plurality of spaced apart nozzle partitions, each plurality respectively circumferentially aligned about and axially spaced from each other along a rotor of the turbine. The nozzle partitions are circumferentially spaced such that a minimum throat extends a predetermined radial distance from the root, thereby forming a converging-diverging flow passageway between nozzle partitions. The trailing edge of the nozzle partitions are disposed to include axial and tangential lean with respect to the rotor. Buckets include a plurality of covers respectively connecting the tips and having a single outward radially extending sealing rib on the radially outer surface of each cover, wherein each rib is tangentially aligned with respective adjacent ribs. Buckets are overtwisted to compensate for untwist at operational speed to achieve optimum efficiency. Buckets are circumferentially spaced to provide a converging-diverging channel therebetween and include lashing for providing mechanical coupling at operational speed.
