摘要： The present methods and systems provide spectrum management for enhancing upstream performance for cable networks. According to one embodiment, a method of enhancing upstream performance in a cable network includes the steps of measuring performance of an upstream channel at a first data signaling rate; determining whether the upstream channel supports a second data signaling rate based on the performance; and selectively transitioning to the second data signaling rate based on said determination. The second data signaling rate is a higher rate than the first data signaling rate.

摘要： An apparatus in one embodiment handles service requests over a network, wherein the network utilizes a protocol. In this aspect, the apparatus includes: a network subsystem for receiving and transmitting network service requests using the network protocol; and a service subsystem, coupled to the network subsystem, for satisfying the network service requests. At least one of the network subsystem and the service subsystem is hardware-implemented; the other of the network subsystem and the service subsystem may optionally be hardware-accelerated. A variety of related embodiments are also provided, including file servers and web servers.

The file system adapter card includes a hardware-implemented or hardware-accelerated file service subsystem and a computer bus that permits a host computer system to communicate directly with the file service subsystem for providing file service requests and receiving file service responses. The file service subsystem includes dedicated hardware that operates outside the immediate control of a host operating system, including specialized circuitry for performing at least one major subsystem function.

摘要： A hydraulic clutch actuation system having a hydraulic clutch control device which includes at least one clutch master cylinder that communicates via a pressure-medium line with a clutch slave cylinder used for actuating a clutch device, the pressure prevailing in the pressure-medium line being relievable via at least one emergency release valve device to permit disengagement of the clutch device in an emergency situation. The hydraulic clutch actuation system is distinguished in that the emergency release valve device has a seal-carrier device for a sealing element which is movable in response to an electromagnet out of an open position, in which a pressure-medium inlet is open, into a closed position in which the sealing element seals the pressure-medium inlet.
