A support member (4) lies along the exterior of a desiccant containing pouch (2) with the pouch secured at both of its longitudinal ends to the support. A filter member is integral with the assembly and positioned at one end of the pouch. Rigid stand off members (10, 18) are positioned at respective ends of the assembly.

    摘要: A desiccant container (2) which comprises a generally cylindrically cross-sectioned cup, two dual-density fiberglass discs (6, 8), desiccant material (4), and a cap (16). The cup includes an outer annular portion, an inner tubular portion, and a bottom which connect together to define a space within. The cap (16) has a planar portion with an aperture for receiving the inner wall portion of the cup and is designed for receipt in the chamber to cover the opening. The cap further includes an outer annular rim portion extending transversely from the planar portion. The peripheral flange portion having tabs with an edge portion which permit the cap to cooperate with the outer wall portion having tabs with an edge portion which permit the cap to cooperate with the outer wall portion so that the cap can be retained within the chamber in one of a number of axially spaced positions to prevent shifting of, and escape of the desiccant.

    摘要: Sensing means for speed and direction of movement of a body (10) movable in an ambient fluid in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis (11). A central chamber (16) has a plurality of radial bores (15) extending to the outer surfaces (12) and opening at their outer ends to the ambient fluid so that as the body (10) moves, a pressure differential between the inner ends (18) and the outer ends (17) causes fluid flow in the passages (15). Flow sensing means comprises a sound source and sound receivers (21) associated with respective bores (15) is provided to determine the phase shift caused by the fluid flow in each bore and hence determine the direction and speed of fluid flow. Processing means (32) determines the speed and direction of movement of body (10).

    摘要: An instrument for detecting penetration of the epidural space comprises a barrel within which a plunger is urged forwardly by a resilient strap. The barrel has a nose on which a Tuohy needle is mounted. The inner surface of the barrel has a groove that extends along the barrel, being spaced from the nose. In operation the assembly is pushed forwardly until the tip of the needle contacts the spinal ligaments. The plunger is then pulled rearwardly past the end of the groove so that air enters the barrel and becomes trapped when the plunger is released and urged forwards by the strap. Penetration of the epidural space by the tip of the needle allows the trapped air to escape through the needle thereby providing an indication of penetration of the epidural space by causing the plunger to be moved forwards.
