摘要： A method and apparatus for producing flush solder fill over recessed pins and over passage holes in circuitized substrates. A substrate carrying rack is immersed in a vessel of molten solder after it has been similarly immersed in a flux bath. While in the molten solder, the rack is vigorously agitated. The rack is then withdrawn from the molten solder and is pivoted upwardly while positioned over the molten solder. Simultaneously, an anvil is rotated from a home position to an impact position at precisely the correct moment. With the solder still molten on the substrate surfaces, the rack is then permitted to descend and is positively biased to strike the anvil thereby dislodging any excess molten solder. A unique supporting arrangement for the rack insures that only a minimum of mass actually impacts against the anvil while insuring the effectiveness of the operation. Each cantilevered arm from which a rack is suspended is temporarily supported during the impacting operation after which the support member is withdrawn. Also, a solder pot of unique design and operation is provided to assure rapid, complete heating of substrates while eliminating contamination thereof by dross and oxides.

摘要： A planar electronic filter has at least two dielectric plates with a ground plate between them and a plurality of parallel spaced electrodes on the outer surface of each plate. A contact area on at least one end surface connects with the ground plate. Usually contact pins are mounted, as by soldering, on the electrodes, a pin on each electrode, with the ends of the pins extending beyond the sides of the plates. The pin ends may be of male or female form, or can be formed for solder or wire wrapping attachment of conductors. The filter is generally mounted in a housing and it can be arranged that contact pins are not mounted on the electrodes but contact members in the housing make direct contact with the electrodes. A connector embodying the filter can comprise one or two housings. One housing can insert into the other and make contact with the filter.

摘要： A training bat having an adjustable handle capable of insertion within or extension from the barrel of the bat. When inserted within the bat, a player is able to master the technique of bunting by holding it with one hand as he would a glove. When the handle is fully extended, the batter may practice bunting in the conventional manner with two hands. A twist lock is provided for maintaining the handle in the extended position, and a beveled portion of the handle frictionally engages the barrel portion for maintaining the handle in the inserted position. A protective shield is provided for protecting the batter's hand while practicing bunting techniques. A novel technique for mastering the art of bunting is also disclosed.

摘要： An adjustable target for practicing tennis serves on a regulation size tennis court comprises a substantially rectangular frame defining an enclosure through which the tennis balls may pass. The frame includes two mutually slidable U-shaped side members. The upper leg of each side member is slidable in an upper telescoping member and the lower leg of each side member is slidable in a lower telescoping member having a downwardly extending adjustable leg and telescoped within a main upright support telescoped over an upwardly extending arm of a base. A brace extends rearwardly from the top of the frame and is adjustable therewith in a lateral direction for advantageously cooperating in releasably attaching a removable net for receiving, catching and holding the served tennis balls penetrating the opening defined by the frame.

摘要： Control is provided over the pouring of iron in the casting of iron pipe in a centrifugal casting machine. The initial flow of molten iron from the pouring ladle into the trough actuates an electric eye. A second electric eye is actuated when the molten iron has filled the pouring ladle. The centrifugal casting machine is rolled up to surround the trough, the bell end of the pipe to be formed being at the end of the trough. The molten iron is poured into the casting machine trough and flows into the bell section of the pipe being cast. The casting machine is then moved away from the trough end to form the rest of the pipe.
