摘要: A fluid injection system is used in a well. Fluid stages are arranged in repeating series within a tubing of the fluid injection system to facilitate control over effects of injection. A sensor system can be used to detect one or more parameters related to the fluids moved downhole through the tubing to further enhance injection procedures.

摘要: Methods for generating geometric databases of coiled tubing inspection data and using the data in job design, real time monitoring and automated feedback control of operations are described. One method includes creating a grid of spatial positions on a length of coiled tubing as it traverses through an inspection apparatus having a plurality of sensors for detecting defects in the coiled tubing. Real time data may be compared to historical or nominal data for the coiled tubing. Another method includes monitoring, in real time or near real time, the status of tubing dimension (thickness, diameter, ovality, shape) during a coiled tubing operation, such as acidizing, fracturing, high pressure operations, drilling, and wellbore cleanouts. This abstract allows a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the disclosure. It will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

摘要: Plural sensors are deployed into a well, and measurement data regarding at least one property of the well is received from the sensors. Based on the measurement data, a first of the plural sensors that measures the at least one property in a region having an annular fluid flow is identified, and a second of the plural sensors that measures the at least one property in a region outside the region having the annular fluid flow is identified. Based on the identifying, the measurement data from selected one or more of the plural sensors is used to produce a target output.

摘要: A method for monitoring production from a methane hydrate reservoir includes obtaining a plurality of temperature measurements in a wellbore connected with the methane hydrate reservoir; and deriving a parameter relating to conversion of methane hydrate to carbon dioxide (CO2) hydrate by injection of liquid CO2, wherein the deriving uses a modeling program and the plurality of temperature measurements, wherein the modeling program uses at least one parameter relating to a thermodynamic properties that are substantially different between methane and CO2. The at least one parameter relating to thermodynamic properties may include Joule-Thomson coefficients of methane and CO2. The parameter relating to the conversion of methane hydrate to CO2 hydrate may include a ratio of methane and CO2 in a mixed fluid.

摘要: A technique facilitates recovery of hydrocarbons in subterranean formations by simplifying the joining of completion assemblies downhole. The system and methodology utilize a well completion having completion assemblies that may be selectively engaged downhole without requiring precise positional accuracy for each signal communication line. A signal communication system is provided to facilitate engagement of the completion assemblies while enabling the transfer of various signals across the connection.

摘要: To perform communications in a multilateral well, a first communication unit having an electromagnetic (EM) field generating element is provided to generate an EM field in a formation between a main bore and a lateral bore of the multilateral well. The EM field generating element includes a component creating a voltage difference along the wellbore. A second communication unit is for positioning in one of the main bore and lateral bore to receive the EM field propagated through the formation between the main bore and the lateral bore.

摘要: A technique includes inducing a distributed temperature change along a portion of a wellbore and measuring a time varying temperature along the portion of the wellbore due to the induced change. The technique includes determining a distributed flow rate in the portion based at least in part on the measured time varying temperature before the temperature reaches equilibrium.
