摘要: A beacon-augmented pose estimation system includes positionable beacons that can determine their own 3-D geospatial coordinates and transmit those coordinates back to the pose object. An imaging sensor images the field-of-view of the pose object to provide 2-D image coordinates for any of the beacons in the FOV. A pose object controller processes the sets of 3-D geospatial coordinates and 2-D image coordinates to refine a pose estimate of the pose object. The positionable beacons may include both static beacons that are pre-positioned and mobile beacons that are command-guided to position themselves in the pose object's likely or actual FOV.

摘要: A method and system of deploying, creating and certifying the “virtual presence” of a user at a location other than the actual location of the user that verifiably associates a power of attorney or agency contract and a “representing entity” to (1) establish the authority of a “representing entity” to act as if the user were physically present at the remote location, and (2) submit the “representing entity” to the jurisdiction of the remote location, even though the user is at a different location and only virtually “present” at the remote location. The representing entity could be an animate object or device located at the remote location, such as a robot, drone, or vehicle, or a “presence” that only exists electronically, commonly referred to as an “avatar.” Certification of the virtual presence is achieved by associating a unique identifier of the representing entity with a certifying document or record that includes a power of attorney or agency contract that identifies both authorized actions by the representing entity and restrictions based on the jurisdiction in which the representing entity is empowered to act, and recording the certifying document or record by hashing and encrypting the unique identifier and document, storing the certifying document or record in a blockchain ledger, and/or storing the certifying document or record in a trusted and protected database.

摘要: A detector for detecting telephone-activated devices, such as cellular telephones used for remotely triggering explosive devices, includes a transmitter for generating and transmitting a pseudo base station signal corresponding to a base station for a telephone-activated device, and a receiver for receiving and detecting a response signal transmitted by the telephone-activated device. At least part of the transmitter and at least of the receiver may be located within a shield of conductive material, such as a cone-shaped metal shield, that aids in localizing and directing the transmitting of the pseudo base station signal toward an object to be interrogated (with regard to whether or not it contains a telephone-activated device in an idle state). The detector has a response unit for providing a response when a telephone-activated device is detected, such as providing an alarm to an operator or interdicting operation of the telephone-activated device.

摘要: An electronic mail system and method enables the originator of a message sent by electronic mail to select a date, time, or event at which the message and all incarnations of the message to self-destruct, regardless of the number and types of computers or software systems that may have interacted with the message, and/or to include processing and handling limitations. The necessary control over the message is achieved by encrypting the message and enabling viewing only through a viewer applet arranged to facilitate destruction of the message upon the occurrence of the selected expiration time, date, or event, and/or to implement the handling and processing limitations. A central server can be used to exercise additional control over the message by serving as a proxy destination, and by transmitting the encrypted message to the viewer applet. In the case where a central mail server is required to enable forwarding of messages, the central server tracks the messages and compiles lists including the identities of all individuals or groups to whom the message has been forwarded, and information on handling of the message by those to whom the message has been sent or forwarded.

摘要: A three-dimensional article making apparatus includes a build material dispenser positioned adjacent a platform for ejecting a plurality of droplets of build material; and dispenser positioners for relatively positioning the dispenser in five degrees of freedom with respect to the platform. Accordingly, the dispenser may be rotated and flipped to permit construction of a cantilevered portion of an article without requiring support material. The dispenser positioners include a Z-direction positioner for positioning the dispenser vertically relative to the platform, an X-Y positioner for positioning the dispenser in an X-Y planar direction relative to the platform, a flip angle positioner for rotatably positioning the dispenser relative to a generally horizontal axis, and a phi angle positioner for rotatably positioning the dispenser relative to a generally vertical axis. A processor is operatively connected to the dispenser and the dispenser positioners for advancing the dispenser along a predetermined path of travel while operating or firing the dispenser to construct the three-dimensional article in successive layers or portions based upon the article defining data. Method aspects of the invention are also disclosed.

摘要: A method for controlling a closed-loop processing system (100) including the steps of receiving and analyzing an element to be processed to identify the contents thereof. The method further includes the steps of processing and converting the element into a residue which is stabilized, to prevent physical interaction therewith, and then deposited in a permanent landfill storage facility (124). Finally, a plurality of parameters of the residue and the environment surrounding the closed-loop processing system (100) are monitored to provide a plurality of control signals. The control signals are utilized to control each stage of the processing system to ensure a negligible environment effect. Thus, the invention provides a method for controlling a processing system in a closed-loop automated manner with negligible environmental impact. In a preferred embodiment, the closed-loop automated system (100) for processing waste of the present invention receives and analyzes waste. The waste is thereafter incinerated or biodecontaminated for conversion into a residue or is chemically processed for reclamation. The residue is then stabilized and stored to prevent physical interaction therewith. Thereafter, a plurality of monitoring devices (154) are employed for automatically measuring and sensing parameters and controlling the closed-loop waste processing system (100).
