    摘要: A projection-type display apparatus and a display method thereof are disclosed, the projection-type display apparatus including a coated portion which is formed on a surface of a substrate, and which scans a video onto a screen, and a patterned portion which is formed on another surface of the substrate in a serrated pattern, wherein the serrated pattern is formed on the substrate according to the surface area of the patterned portion and the depth of the serrated pattern. A serrated pattern is formed on a substrate forming a reflective portion to reflect a video on a screen, so the cooling surface area of the substrate is increased, thereby compensating for distortions in video scanned onto the screen.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display and method for controlling brightness of an image on a liquid crystal display are provided, in which, a liquid crystal display panel displays an image, a light generating unit provides a laser beam to illuminate the liquid crystal display panel, a scanning unit scans the liquid crystal display panel with the laser beam, and a controller controls a speed of the scanning unit depending on a brightness of the image. Thus, the liquid crystal display is capable of improving a contrast of an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel using a laser as a backlight.

    摘要: An optical projection system and an image display device having the same include a refraction part to create pincushion distortion in an image, and a reflection part to create barrel distortion in the pincushion-distorted image to compensate for the pincushion distortion and to project an enlarged image without distortion onto an image display surface. The refraction part includes a first cylinder symmetrical optic system having a first group of lenses including at least one aspheric lens, a second cylinder symmetrical optic system having a second group of lenses including at least one aspheric lens, a first planar reflecting optic system to bend the image that passes through the first cylinder symmetrical optic system by a first predetermined angle, and a second planar reflecting optic system to reflect the image that passes through the second cylinder symmetrical optic system to the reflection part. The reflection part includes a reflecting mirror inclinedly disposed at a predetermined angle and having an XY polynomial surface.

    摘要: A thin projection type image display device with a low chin height includes a cabinet, a screen, a projection optical system, an optical path changing unit, and a reflecting unit. The screen is disposed on a front side of the cabinet. The projection optical system enlarges and projects an image formed by a display element, and the optical path changing unit is disposed on the bottom of the cabinet to reflect the image enlarged and projected by the projection optical system. The reflection unit is disposed obliquely to the screen and below the screen to reflect the image reflected by the optical path changing unit toward the screen. The projection optical system is disposed in a space above a horizontal plane perpendicular to the screen, behind the front side of the cabinet, and below an optical path of light incident on a bottom of the screen.
