    摘要: A railroad signal system interlocking is automatically tested. A control point interface corresponding to a predetermined function of the interlocking has an isolated section and a control section. The isolated section is connected with the interlocking and has a normal, inactivated state during operation of the interlocking, and an activated state for testing the interlocking by detecting an electrical characteristic representing the status of the predetermined function executed by the interlocking. The control section drives the isolated section to its activated state and receiving an output from the isolated section in response to the detected electrical characteristic, and delivers a status report.

    摘要: A testing interface provides rapid, temporary connections to individual signal relays used in railroad signal systems when testing is required, and otherwise permits normal operation of railroad signal vital circuits through its connections. A connectivity block provides contacts that are used to isolate the relay from its application circuit and provide connectivity to the relay coils for testing when a connection paddle is inserted into the block. The interface allows fully automated or manual testing of installed relays without requiring removal from the relay rack.

    摘要: An amplitude responsive detection system analyzes the amplitude characteristic of a received noise and determines whether that characteristic conforms to the predictable audio signature of a gunshot. If a received noise reaches a predetermined amplitude level within a rise time that may be indicative of a gunshot, subsequent amplitude criteria are established representing the decay of the amplitude profile that is expected if the noise is a gunshot. The amplitude criteria are controlled as to both level and occurrence in time to provide a dynamic range that will accommodate near and far gunshots.

    摘要: A traffic radar unit capable of looking past the lead vehicle of oncoming traffic and discovering and identifying a violator employs master and slave antennas having diverging boresights that provide overlapping relative power density radiation patterns. The radar return signal from a target of interest is received by each antenna to produce two independent Doppler signals of the same frequency which are processed by respective master and slave signal processing channels. In the illustrated embodiment, a reference boresight is established in the overlapped patterns such that a target position along the reference boresight occurs at the time that the amplitudes of the two Doppler signals are equal. Controllable high pass filters whose passbands are shifted upwardly in response to return signals of increasing amplitude attenuate stronger, lower frequency interfering signals. The presence of a second Doppler signal in either channel having a frequency near the signal of interest causes the receiver to abort the tracking mode.
