摘要: An unmanned aerial vehicle delivery system utilizes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to deliver packages between an initiation point and multiple delivery points at a raised elevation. The UAV flies between points in an organized manner, using logistical, maintenance and safety software, commands from a delivery organization, and guidance tools to coordinate deliveries. One advantage of the system is that the UAV engages the delivery points at a raised elevation, rather than the ground level. The UAV docks through an elevated structure at the delivery point for delivering the package and replenishing a power source. The package is conveyed from a docking end and through a central shaft of the elevated structure by means of an elevator. The package then travels to a lower structure, such as a house or office, for pickup. After completion of the delivery, the UAV replenishes its power source and/or continues on the delivery route.

摘要: For providing synchronization of image data among diverse devices and applications, exemplary systems include a direct client application providing a user interface operable to allow a user to organize image data according to albums, and to select one or more albums for synchronization with one or more server interfaces that provide various image data manipulation, sharing, and features related thereto. Systems also include an intermediary system to assist in synchronization of select albums with handheld devices, and a notification server to provide scalable notifications of album updates made at server interfaces by users. Exemplary methods include steps providing for selection, from direct client applications, of albums to synchronize with devices, including handheld devices, and various steps of providing updates and notifications among appropriate system components.

摘要: A masking device for performing high-resolution photoresist-based lithography in the fabrication of integrated circuits. The heart of the device is a cylindrical block made of material transparent to, and manifesting a relatively high index of refraction for, the wavelengths of light to be used in conjunction with it. The mask end of the block is imprinted with a pattern of ridges corresponding to the pattern to be illuminated on the photoresist. The mask end, including the inter-ridge troughs, is covered with a metal film several tens of .ANG. thick. The troughs are filled in with a material such as carbon black strongly absorptive of the wavelengths that will emerge from the mask. The sides of the block are covered with a metal cladding sufficiently thick to prevent any light from escaping from the block. The top end of the block, opposite the mask end, is left uncovered. In operation, the block is used in conjunction with a precise positioning mechanism for locating the block in the horizontal plane and for maintaining a very small, but non-zero, distance between the mask ridges and the photoresist layer, such that the photoresist layer is in the near-field of the mask. In this manner, the photoresist can be illuminated with the pattern desired, with a resolution sufficient to produce circuit elements with dimensions much less than the wavelength of light entering the top end of the mask block.

摘要: Process for manufacturing of an optical article which comprises:making available an organic substrate based on an organic polymer having a degree of water uptake of greater than or equal to 0.6% by weight, with respect to the total weight of the substrate, the degree of water uptake being equal to the weight of water absorbed by the material after drying and then storing for 800 hours in a chamber at 50° C. under a relative humidity of 100% and at atmospheric pressure;forming a hard abrasion-resistant coating on the substrate by heating the substrate at a temperature of greater than or equal to 90° C. for a period of time of at least 20 minutes;exposing the substrate covered with the hard abrasion-resistant coating to a humid atmosphere, so as to restore, to the organic substrate, the water evaporated during stage; anddepositing of a water-impermeable inorganic coating by vacuum evaporation.

摘要: A dual action canopy release for releasably holding a parachute harness securement strap in a buckle. The canopy release may be activated by a forward movement of a lever arm or a rearward movement of the lever arm. The lever arm cooperates with an actuating lever having a first position, wherein the actuating lever holds a latch in a locked position, and a second position, wherein the actuating lever releases the latch thereby allowing the latch to move to an unlocked position. Either the forward movement or the rearward movement of the lever arm causes the actuating lever to move to the second position. In the unlocked position, the latch allows parachute harness securement strap to be withdrawn from the buckle.
