摘要: An information processing apparatus comprises: a memory to store emulation information which is designated from a host computer that is connected to a printer via a general parallel interface; a judging circuit to judge a delimiter of print data; and a control unit to switch the emulation on the basis of the emulation information stored in the memory and the result of the judgment by the judging circuit. When each section of the apparatus is in the inoperative state, they are set into the power saving mode and are sequentially controlled. Thus, the power saving of the whole apparatus can be realized.

摘要: An image reading method and device are capable of producing a sufficient amount of light to read an original image by means of a simplified circuit construction, and are also capable of providing more stable high-quality image information with less power consumption. The image reading device includes a reduced optical system which is arranged to bring reflected light obtained by illuminating an original with an LED into focus on a CCD sensor through a lens and read an image formed on the CCD, and also includes a custom IC for performing preheating control and warmth retention control of the LED.

摘要: In a system in which an image input apparatus and image forming apparatus are directly connected, the operation of the image input apparatus may stop during the operation of the image forming apparatus. The performance between the apparatuses is unbalanced, and the total throughput is low. According to this invention, in a system in which a plurality of apparatuses are connected via a serial bus, an apparatus having the node ID=0 upon bus reset in connection calculates a time required for each process in each apparatus for a plurality of processes forming a series of image processes. For a plurality of patterns (process roots) for distribution of image processing between the apparatuses, the processing time is calculated for each pattern. A series of image processes are executed based on a distribution pattern exhibiting the shortest time. In the image input apparatus, the format of image data to be transferred is switched in accordance with the empty state of a buffer in the image output apparatus. This enables efficient image forming processing in the system to increase the total throughput.

摘要: A digital television (101) which allows the user to view a digital broadcast program receives a digital broadcast signal, and outputs it on the display screen. The digital television sequentially stores print information of the broadcast program in response to a predetermined output instruction during viewing of the broadcast program. The digital television transmits the stored print information to a printer in response to a print start instruction after the predetermined output instruction. In this way, the digital television sequentially saves print data of the broadcast program that the user is viewing, allows the user to select required data later, and can print the selected data all together.

摘要: In an electronic device capable of being driven on a battery, there is provided a docking system configuration in which a docking unit mainly serving as an extension can be attached/detached to/from a master unit by using a system bus as a bridge. The docking unit is adapted to operate alone upon start-up of a power source even while being detached from the master unit. In each of the master unit and the docking unit, detection is made for whether the units are docked each other and for whether a residual capacity of a driving battery in steps is decreased. When it is detected that the residual capacity of the driving battery is decreased, either of operation suspending processing or operation end processing is selectively executed.

摘要: In an image processing device, a white level reference value is obtained by allowing an CCD sensor to scan a white level standard sheet. The white level reference value is stored in SRAM which is resident in a scan cartridge. The white level reference value in the SRAM is modified when an original document is read through a clear sheet, to obtain a high-quality image.
