    摘要: An adaptor includes a sensor hole to be open/closed, and a method and an apparatus drive the adaptor. The adaptor includes at least one sensor hole determining the size of a disc received in an adaptor body which is received via a disc holder. The disc holder includes an elastic press extended therefrom and elastically support the disc, preventing a movement of the disc until the disc holder is inserted into the adaptor body. Further, a release is disposed on the adaptor body to release the disc from the elastic press when the disc holder is inserted into the adaptor body. A method for driving the adaptor includes determining whether the sensor hole is open; and determining the type of device inserted into a disc drive. The type of drive inserted into the disc drive is determined by the adaptor accommodating an 8-cm disc when the sensor hole is open, while a cartridge accommodates a 12-cm disc when the sensor hole is closed. An apparatus for driving the adaptor includes a sensing switch to be selectively inserted into the sensor hole of the inserted adaptor to be turned on/off and transmit the corresponding signal regarding the open/closed state of the sensor hole to a microcomputer.

    摘要: An optical pickup includes a rotary block rotatably installed on a fixed base; a holder integrally coupled to the rotary block; a bobbin supported by a wires of the holder to be movable; a base plate fixed to the fixed base and placed between the rotary block and the bobbin; an objective lens mounted in the bobbin, for focusing an incident light to form a spot of light on a recording medium; a focusing coil and tracking coils installed in the bobbin, serving as a current flow path for focusing and tracking operations; first magnets and first inner and outer yokes installed in the base plate, facing the focusing coil and the tracking coils, for producing magnetic fields perpendicular to the current flowing through the focusing coil and the tracking coils to produce an electromagnetic force for driving the bobbin; a fixed optical system for irradiating light toward the recording medium and receiving the light reflected by the recording medium and then passed through the objective lens; a reflecting mirror for changing the traveling path of the incident light, the reflecting mirror installed in the rotary block to be arranged between the objective lens and the fixed optical system; tilt coils serving as a current flow path, the tilt coils installed at both sides of the rotary block; and second magnets and second inner and outer yokes installed facing the tilt coils, for producing magnetic fields perpendicular to the current flowing through the tilt coils to produce an electromagnetic force for rotating the rotary block.     摘要: A recording apparatus to record a mark on a recording medium includes an aberration detecting part and an optical power controller. The aberration detecting part detects an aberration signal corresponding to the amount of an aberration contained in a light beam radiated onto a recording surface of the recording medium by using an optical pickup system which includes a light source and an objective lens. The light source emits a light beam having a power to record the mark on the recording medium. The objective lens condenses the light beam to focus the light beam as an optical spot on the recording surface of the recording medium. The optical power controller controls the power output from the light source according to the detected aberration signal, so as to have the light source output an optical power to record the mark, in which a deformation due to the aberration is compensated for, on the recording medium. Accordingly, even though the aberration occurs, a proper mark in which the deformation due to the aberration is compensated for can be recorded by increasing the recording power of the light source in proportion to the amount of the aberration to compensate for the aberration. As a result, the mark showing a good signal characteristic can be recorded on the recording medium without an additional aberration compensating device.

    摘要: An optical pickup apparatus which reduces cross talk by adjacent tracks. The optical pickup apparatus divides light reflected from an optical recording medium as a spot into center and side portions defined with respect to the radial direction of the recording medium and provides electrical signals corresponding to the reflected light in divided form. An operation unit multiplies signals corresponding to the side portions by an operation constant, adds the multiplication results and the detected signal of the center portion, and outputs an information signal of a main track with reduced cross talk by adjacent tracks in real time. The optical efficiency is sufficient that recording of an information signal can be performed with the optical pickup.

    摘要: An optical pickup includes a light source emitting a laser beam and an optical path changing unit altering a traveling path of an incident beam. An objective lens, disposed on an optical path between the optical path changing unit and an optical disk, focuses the incident beam from the light source to form a light spot on the optical disk of the objective lens. The optical pickup further includes a photodetector and an detecting-correcting unit, arranged on the optical path between the optical path changing unit and the objective lens, performing at least one of detecting the thickness of the optical disk and correcting aberration caused by thickness variations of the optical disk. The objective lens includes a first transmitting portion divergently transmitting an incident beam, where the first transmitting portion is at a relatively near-axis region from an optical axis of the objective lens. A second transmitting portion transmits the incident beam, where the second transmitting portion is arranged facing the first transmitting portion. A first reflecting portion condenses and reflects the incident beam from the first transmitting portion, where the first reflecting portion is formed around the second transmitting portion. A second reflecting portion condenses and reflects the incident beam from the first reflecting portion towards the second transmitting portion, where the second reflecting portion is formed around the first transmitting portion.
