摘要: An engine starter and electric generator system transmits rotative power to a crankshaft to start an engine and generates electric power based on rotative power from the crankshaft after the engine has started. The engine starter and electric generator system includes a starter/generator operable selectively as a starter motor to produce the rotative power and a generator for generating the electric power, and an electric power supply device for supplying electric power to the starter motor. A power transmitting mechanism operatively interconnects the crankshaft and the starter/generator, for bidirectionally transmitting the rotative power between the crankshaft and the starter/generator. A transmission mechanism is disposed in the power transmitting mechanism, for changing the speed of rotation transmitted between the crankshaft and the starter/generator. The system also has a control device for controlling operation of the starter/generator and establishing different speed-reduction ratios for the transmission mechanism when the starter/generator operates as the generator and when the starter/generator operates as the starter motor.

摘要: A resonant inverter circuit is provided which can be made lighter in weight and smaller in capacity. With a main circuit in steady mode, IGBT of an auxiliary circuit are controlled and the energy of an electric current is stored in a resonant inductance. Next, snubber capacitors are charged and discharged by means of an electric current. At this time, the voltages across both terminals of IGBT corresponding with the snubber capacitors being charged becomes zero, and ZVS is achieved. Furthermore, when the snubber capacitors being discharged have been completely discharged, and free wheeling diodes and IGBT corresponding with these snubber capacitors conduct, both the voltages across both terminals of the IGBT and the electric current become zero and ZVS and ZCS are achieved.

摘要: Before a motor contactor is turned ON, a pre-charge contactor is turned ON to charge a smoothing capacitor of an inverter. During this time, an increased rate of voltage of the capacitor is detected by a voltage sensor. When the increased rate exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the capacitor has deteriorated. After turning-OFF the motor contactor, a discharge contactor is turned ON, and the capacitor of the inverter is discharged. During this time, a decreased rate of voltage of the capacitor is detected by the voltage sensor. When the decreased rate exceeds a predetermined value, it is determined that the capacitor has deteriorated. Thus, it is possible to determine the deterioration of the smoothing capacitor mounted in the inverter in an electric vehicle without removing of the capacitor from the inverter.
