摘要: An electric wire with terminal includes an electric wire covering an outer periphery of a core wire with an insulating coating and a female terminal. The female terminal includes: a wire barrel having a bottom plate on which the core wire is placed and crimped onto the core wire; a groove portion extending from the bottom plate in a direction in which the core wire extends and whose surface on the side where the core wire is placed is bent into a concave shape. The groove portion has a water blocking wall molded by synthetic resin. The water blocking wall is provided to fill the inside of the groove portion. A region extending from the water blocking wall to the end of the insulating coating is covered with a water blocking coating, and the inner surface of the water blocking coating is in close contact with the water blocking wall.

摘要: A connector is provided to improve the reliability of a primary locking function by an elastic lock piece without deteriorating a secondary locking function and an insufficient insertion detecting function of a retainer. When female terminals (20) are properly inserted, a retainer (30) can be pushed to its fully fitted state or full lock position since elastic lock pieces (14) are not located in deformation permitting spaces (15). When there is/are insufficiently inserted terminal(s) (20), the retainer (30) cannot be pushed to its fully fitted state or full lock position since it comes into contact with the elastic lock pieces (14) in the spaces (15). Since a lock projection and the elastic lock piece (14) are locked outside the terminal (20), a large engaging space of the lock projection (23) with the elastic lock piece (14) can be ensured without restricting a projecting amount of the lock projections (23) by the internal construction of the terminals (20).

摘要: A lever 30 is mounted on a female connector housing 20 such that a part of the lever 30 is accommodated in a receptacle 11 of a male connector housing 10 together with a female connector housing 20 in a connected state of the male and female connector housings 10, 20. Thus, a movement of the lever in its opening direction is restricted by an outer wall of the receptacle 11, eliminating the need to provide a protection wall for preventing the disengagement of the lever 30 in the connected state. This results in a reduced size of the lever connector. Further, the lever 30 is formed in its outer surfaces with cam grooves 33 in the form of recesses. Thus, a mold for the lever 30 can be pulled outward, enabling the simplification of the construction thereof.

摘要: A terminal fitting (T) has a rectangular tube (10) with a bottom plate (12). A resilient contact (25) extends back into the tube (10) from an end of the bottom plate (12). A base portion (33) is formed at the front end of the bottom plate (12) and is made narrower than the bottom plate (12) by cutting away the left and right edges. A bulge (34) bulges out from a lateral edge of the base portion (33) and narrows an area of an opening between the base portion (33) and the right side plate (13R). Thus, external matter is less likely to intrude into the rectangular tube (10) through the opening even if the resilient contact (25) is narrow. Additionally, the base portion (33) is reinforced by the bulge (34). Thus, the base portion (33) is less likely to be deformed by external matter.

摘要: A terminal fitting (T) has a rectangular tube (10) with a base plate (12) and first and second side plates (13L, 13R) that extend from opposite sides of the base plate (12). A ceiling plate (14) extends from the first side plate (13L) towards the second side plate (13R), and a recess (37) is formed at an extending edge of the ceiling plate (14). A pressing portion (38) extends from the second side plate (13R) and is accommodated in the recess (37) for preventing upward displacement of the ceiling plate (14). Thus, there is no significant step between the upper surfaces of the ceiling plate (14) and the pressing portion (38) and the height of the rectangular tube (10) can be reduced.

Upon being moved from a partial locking position to a full locking position, A retainer (7) can be moved from a partial locking position to a full locking position and is guided obliquely forward by guides (22-25). Thus, the retainer (7) can be constantly guided to a specified position regardless of a variation in the fitted position of the retainer (7) in the retainer mount hole (8) along forward and backward directions. Since the retainer (7) and terminal fittings (4) can constantly have a proper positional relationship, a problem of a varying function of the retainer (7) to detect the insufficiently inserted states of the terminal fittings (4) due to a variation in the fitted position of the retainer (7) can be solved.

摘要: A connector has a housing (20; 50) with cavities (23) for receiving terminal fittings (10; 60). At least a portion of each cavity (23) is rectangular and is dimensioned to receive a rectangular tube portion (11) of the terminal fitting (10; 60). At least one corner of the rectangular tube (11) defines an engaging recess (17; 61). At least one L-shaped lock (29; 51) is cantilevered forward adjacent each cavity (23) and is resiliently deflectable diagonally away from the rectangular portion of the respective cavity (23) in response to insertion of the terminal fitting (10; 60) into the respective cavity (23). The lock (29; 51) returns resiliently after proper insertion of the terminal fitting (10; 60) to engage the recess (17; 61).
