    摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide an optical recording disc which can record data constituted by a recording mark train including recording marks and blank regions neighboring recording marks therein and reproduce the data therefrom in a desired manner even in the case where the lengths of a recording mark and a blank region between neighboring recording marks are shorter than the resolution limit and whose storage capacity can be markedly increased and a method for manufacturing such an optical recording disc._An optical recording disc is constituted so that data are recorded therein and data are reproduced therefrom with the irradiation with a laser beam and includes a laminated body formed by laminating a decomposition reaction layer 5 containing platinum oxide PtOx as a primary component and a light absorbing layer 7 so as to sandwich a second dielectric layer 6 and x in the chemical formula: PtOx of the platinum oxide contained in the decomposition reaction layer 5 is equal to or larger than 1.0.

The optical recording disc is further constituted so that when it is irradiated with the laser beam, a bubble pit is formed in the decomposition reaction layer 5 and fine particles of platinum precipitate into the bubble pit, thereby forming a recording mark in the decomposition reaction layer 5 and each of the fine particles of platinum has a particle diameter of 2 nm to 15 nm.

    摘要: A recording mark train is formed in an optical recording medium including a noble metal oxide layer by decomposing a noble metal oxide and deforming the noble metal oxide layer. Noble metal particles are irreversibly deposit in the noble metal oxide layer formed with the recording mark train and a laser beam for reproducing data is irradiated onto the thus deposited noble metal particles, thereby reading the recording mark train. The recording mark train includes at least one recording mark having a length shorter than 0.37λ/NA wherein λ is the wavelength of the laser beam and NA is an optical system for irradiating the laser beam. According to the present invention, in the case of recording and reproducing a recording mark having a size smaller than the resolution limit or a recording mark having a size equal to or larger than the resolution limit but close to the resolution limit in this manner, a high reproduction output can be obtained and a high reproduction durability can be achieved for each of the all recording marks in the recording mark train.

    摘要: An optical recording medium in accordance with the present invention is provided with a substrate, a mask layer, provided on the substrate, whose index of refraction changes due to light or heat of the substrate, and a recording layer that is provided away from the mask layer by a distance that is not more than a distance which allows the near-field light to reach. The mask layer generates a minute opaque region in a light spot and the recording layer is a magneto-optical layer. An optical recording and reproduction apparatus in accordance with the present invention uses the optical recording medium. This allows to provide an optical recording medium and an optical recording and reproduction apparatus that can suppress the erasure of recorded marks and carry out the reproduction again and again.

    摘要: An optical device and a recording medium are provided with a recording layer for recording information by radiation of light, and a mask layer which is formed closely to the recording layer, reduces its transmittance of light due to light or heat, and transmits light to the recording layer by using a near-field effect. An optical reproducing and recording method includes the steps of: emitting a laser beam onto the mask layer, generating a near field around an area of the mask layer that has transmittance being reduced by the laser beam, and reproducing or recording optical information in the recording layer by interaction between the near field and the recording layer. With this method, it is possible to provide the optical device, recording medium, and optical reproducing and recording method that can realize a high S/N ratio upon reproducing and recording and that can readily form a recording mark.

    摘要: Tape-shaped superconducting wires are made by forming a superconducting film on the substrate. At least the superconducting film is slit, electrically separated into a plurality of superconducting film parts each having a rectangular cross section and arranged in parallel to form parallel conductors. This provides superconducting wires capable of containing AC loss. A superconducting coil is made by winding the superconducting wires described above, wherein the provision of a coil structure containing at least partially a part wherein the perpendicular interlinkage magnetic flux acting among various conductor elements of the parallel conductors by the distribution of the magnetic field generated by the superconducting coils cancel mutually enables a simple structure without transposition to cancel mutually the interlinkage magnetic flux by the perpendicular magnetic field against wires, to contain circulating current within the wires by the perpendicular magnetic field and to make shunt current uniform. This provides a low-loss superconducting coil.
