Abstract: The present invention provides a cell treatment apparatus that can improve the operating rates of an observation unit and a laser irradiation unit in the case of treating a plurality of cell culture vessels. The cell treatment apparatus of the present invention includes: a cell treatment chamber in which cells in a cell culture vessel are treated; an observation unit that can observe the cells in the cell culture vessel; a laser irradiation unit that can irradiate the cells with lasers; a first moving unit that can move the observation unit; and a second moving unit that can move the laser irradiation unit, wherein the cell treatment chamber includes a plurality of regions in which the cells can be treated, each region includes a first cell culture vessel placement unit and a second cell culture vessel placement unit, in the first cell culture vessel placement unit, the cells in the cell culture vessel are observed by the observation unit, in the second cell culture vessel placement unit, the cells in the cell culture vessel are irradiated with lasers by the laser irradiation unit, the observation unit is moved by the first moving unit in a state of being able to observe the cells in the cell culture vessel in the first cell culture vessel placement unit of each region, and the laser irradiation unit is moved by the second moving unit in a state of being able to irradiate the cells in the cell culture vessel in the second cell culture vessel placement unit of each region with lasers.

Abstract: The cell treatment apparatus of the present disclosure is a cell treatment apparatus including: an observation unit; a laser emitter; and a controller. The controller includes at least one processor that is configured to detect, using image data that includes the cell captured by an observation unit and a learned model capable of detecting a target cell or a non-target cell, a target cell or a non-target cell in the image data; set a region where the target cell is present or a region where the non-target cell is not present as a laser irradiation region to be subjected to laser irradiation by the laser emitter, and apply a laser emitted from the laser emitter to the laser irradiation region in the cell culture tool to treat the target cell.

Abstract: It is a main object of the present invention to provide a new producing method capable of efficiently performing direct conversion or induction from a somatic cell to an insulin-producing cell. The present invention can include, for example, a process for producing an insulin-producing cell by direct differentiation induction from a somatic cell, comprising a step of culturing a somatic cell in a serum-free differentiation induction medium, or a step of culturing a somatic cell in a differentiation induction medium containing 5 μg/mL or more of insulin. According to the present invention, insulin-producing cells having a high insulin secretion ability can be produced directly and efficiently from a somatic cell. The insulin-producing cells obtained according to the present invention are useful in regenerative medicine and the like.

Abstract: The present invention chiefly aims to provide a process for directly inducing insulin-producing cells from somatic cells without performing artificial gene transfer. The present invention can include a process for producing an insulin-producing cell by inducing differentiation directly from a somatic cell, the process comprising a step of culturing the somatic cell in the presence of a cAMP inducer, and six members selected from the group consisting of a GSK3 inhibitor, a TGF-β inhibitor, a BMP inhibitor, a p53 inhibitor, a PI3K inhibitor, a Notch inhibitor and a RAR agonist, or all members thereof. The insulin-producing cells obtained by the present invention are useful in regenerative medicine and the like.

Abstract: A laser processing machine for killing specific cells from a group of cells on a surface of a layer containing an ingredient capable of absorbing laser light, the laser processing machine being configured to: control a laser light source to output laser light at 5 W or less and at a wavelength of 380 nm or greater such that the laser light source is applied to a second area on a second surface of the layer opposed to the first surface; and control an actuator to provide a relative movement between the second area where the laser light is applied and the layer at a rate of 2000 mm/sec or less such that the irradiated second area absorbs energy to generate heat that kills unwanted cells on a first area of the first surface and the laser light does not instantly kill the specific cells on the first area upon irradiation.

Abstract: A cell culture vessel for use with a laser processing machine, including: a layer containing an ingredient that generates heat upon laser irradiation; the layer kills specific cells from among a group of cells cultured on a first surface of the layer when a second surface of the layer is irradiated with laser light having an output of 5W or less at a wavelength of 380 nm or greater and a relative movement between a second area on the second surface where the laser light is applied and the layer is at a rate of 2000 mm/sec or less such that the second area absorbs energy of the laser light to generate heat that kills the specific cells that are present on a first area of the first surface and the laser light does not instantly kill the specific cells on the first area upon irradiation with the laser light.
