Abstract:
The invention relates to a papermaking agent composition, preferably in powder form, which comprises a water-soluble polymer, which comprises 21-30 mol-% of vinylamine units and has an average molecular weight of at least 1 000 000 Da. The invention relates also to a method for treating of fiber stock in manufacture of paper, board or the like, where a thick fiber stock is obtained, it is diluted to a thin fiber stock having a consistency
Abstract:
The invention provides new water soluble polymers for the use in industrial processes, where large quantities of water is handled, such as sludge dewatering and papermaking. These new polymers are water soluble cross-linked block copolymers, wherein the block copolymers are cross-linked together using a cross-linking agent. Each of the block copolymers contain two different blocks, and these blocks are formed from different monomers. The blocks are linked together with a molecular spacer derived from a bifunctional initiator used during the polymerization of the blocks. The monomers used in polymerizing the blocks are different with each other and they are selected from a group consisting of N-vinylformamide, acrylic acid, acrylamide and water-soluble derivatives thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing a cationic polyvinyl amine based copolymer. The present invention further relates to a cationic polyvinyl amine based copolymer and use of the copolymer in paper industry as a strength agent, a retention agent and a drainage agent.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to an interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) material comprising a copolymer of vinylamine-vinylformamide, and a homo-polymer or a copolymer of at least one monomer selected from acrylamide or derivatives thereof, acrylic acid or derivatives thereof, or a mixture thereof forming the IPN material together with the copolymer of vinylamine-vinyl-formamide. The present invention further relates to a process for producing the IPN material, and to use of the IPN material in paper industry.
Abstract:
New polyvinylamide and/or acryl acid-based copolymers. The new structured block copolymers are based on the block copolymerization of N-vinyl formamide (NVF) with other monomers by using a bifunctional initiator. Further, a method of preparing the structured block copolymer is provided, and especially a method wherein the NVF-based block is at least partially hydrolyzed to obtain PVAm. Also the use of the new structured block copolymers in sludge dewatering and in papermaking processes is disclosed.
