摘要: The present disclosure relates to a balanced armature receiver diaphragm including a paddle (202) flexibly coupled to a frame (204) and spaced apart therefrom by a gap (206). The paddle comprises a material having a specific modulus kg/m3) in at least one direction and density selected to increase stiffness and reduce mass. In one implementation, at least the paddle includes a carbon fiber material. The resulting paddle has improved acoustic performance including improved frequency response and less resonance in the audio band, among other benefits.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a balanced armature receiver (100) including a housing having a diaphragm comprising a movable paddle (116) disposed in the housing and separating the housing into a back volume (112) and a front volume (110) defined partly by space between a ceiling of the housing and the diaphragm, wherein the paddle is oriented non-parallel to the ceiling. A sound port (142) in the housing acoustically couples the front volume to an exterior of the housing, wherein the sound port is located on an end wall between the diaphragm and the ceiling. A motor disposed in the back volume includes a coil magnetically coupled to an armature having an end portion movably disposed between magnets retained by a yoke and coupled to the paddle.

摘要: Sound-producing acoustic receivers are disclosed. The acoustic receiver includes a receiver housing with a first internal volume and a second internal volume, a first diaphragm separating the first internal volume into a first front volume and a first back volume such that the first front volume has a first sound outlet port, a second diaphragm separating the second internal volume into a second front volume and a second back volume such that the second front volume has a second sound outlet port, a motor disposed at least partially inside the housing such that the motor including an armature mechanically coupled to both the first diaphragm and the second diaphragm, an acoustic seal between the first front volume and the second back volume such that the acoustic seal accommodates the mechanical coupling of the armature to one of the first diaphragm or the second diaphragm.

摘要: Provided are systems and methods for microphone signal fusion. An example method commences with receiving a first and second signal representing sounds captured, respectively, by internal and external microphones. The second signal includes at least a voice component. The first signal and the voice component are modified by at least human tissue. The first and second signals are processed to obtain noise estimates. The first signal is aligned with the second signal. The second signal and the aligned first signal are blended based on the noise estimates to generate an enhanced voice signal. The internal microphone is located inside an ear canal and sealed for isolation from acoustic signals outside the ear canal. The external microphone is located outside the ear canal. All of parts of the processing, blending and aligning of the systems and method may be performed on a subband basis in the frequency domain.

摘要: A system method provides for multi-port wind noise protection. A sound may include a desired component such as speech and an undesired component such as wind. Multiple apertures on a housing receive the sound and conduct it to a microphone. The undesired component such as wind is uncorrelated at the apertures and mixes at the microphone, attenuating in amplitude while the desired component such as speech is correlated at the apertures. In this manner, the signal to noise ratio between the desired component and undesired component is improved at the microphone.

摘要: The present disclosure pertains to hearing devices configurable between open fit and closed fit configurations at different times through actuation of one or more acoustic valves located in one or more corresponding sound passages of the hearing device. The one or more acoustic valves of the hearing device are adaptively controlled based on context detected by one or more sensors. The context may be, but is not limited to, a mode of operation of the hearing devices which may include, for example, an audio content playback mode and a voice communication mode. The actuatable valves may be actuatable in situ without having to remove the hearing device from the user's ear thereby enabling the user to experience the benefit of a closed fit or an open fit depending on the user's desire or other context.

摘要: An ear tip includes a body member that forms an internal chamber. The body member has an exterior portion configured to contact at least a portion of an ear canal of a user of the ear tip. The internal chamber has a nominal volume when the internal chamber is not deformed. A fluid is disposed in the internal chamber of the body member where a volume of the fluid-filled internal chamber is less than the nominal volume when the fluid-filled internal chamber is deformed.
