A method and system are provided for generating automatic elevator calls for an elevator system in a building, in which is a plurality of apartments and in the apartments an apartment-specific sensor, the sensor signal produced by which detects that a person is leaving or has left an apartment. On the basis of the sensor signal, an elevator is called to the floor on which the apartment is situated for collecting the person who has left the apartment.

Floor content information of an elevator is described. According to an embodiment, a device is disclosed, comprising: a processor; a storage comprising a set of instructions; wherein the set of instructions cause the processor to: Receive a destination floor of the elevator; Receive information describing content of the destination floor, wherein the content identifies the content located within the destination floor; Based on the destination floor and the information describing the content of the destination floor, display a data notification to at least one user using the elevator travelling to the destination floor. The invention relates to a destination control system of an elevator system having at least one elevator group, wherein a destination call is input via at least one destination call input device to the destination control system to be allocated to at least one of the elevators of the elevator group to service the destination call. The destination call input device further includes an optional input for a desired operating time of a so called “pre-booked” destination call and the destination control system comprises a memory for pre-booked destination call data comprising the departure floor, the destination floor, a correlated operating time for the pre-booked destination call as well as a correlated identifier of the user having issued the pre-booked destination call, in which destination control system the pre-booked destination calls are allocated to the elevators of the elevator group with a higher priority than not pre-booked destination calls. Further, the destination control system has at least one identification reader arranged at least in the vicinity of the elevators to obtain an identifier input by the elevator user, and a pre-booked destination call is confirmed by the destination control system only after it has been checked that the identifier obtained by the identification reader corresponds to the identifier correlated to the pre-booked destination call. The invention rewards pre-booking of destination calls and leads thus to a better efficiency of the elevator system.

Indoor positioning information is received for positioning a user within a structure including at least one passageway and one or more bookmarks, a bookmark including a location of the bookmark within the structure, and a function for operating the passageway, when the bookmark is activated. Location of the user is determined and compared with the locations of the bookmarks. At least one bookmark is determined to be activated and activated, on the basis of the correspondence of the user's location and the locations of the bookmarks. Current operational state and future operational state of the passageway are determined for controlling the passageway from the current operational state towards the future operational state that is determined on the basis of the activated bookmarks. The controlling is performed, when the current operational state and the future operational state are different.

A method for identifying an elevator allocated by an elevator system for a user of the elevator system is provided, which elevator system includes a plurality of elevators, and an apparatus that communicates with the elevator system, more particularly with the control system of it, and that is available to a user, which apparatus includes a display. In the method a real-time view of the landscape behind the display is transmitted via the display to the front of the display to the user, and predetermined graphics are presented to the user on the display at a point that transmits to the user a real-time view of the allocated elevator, or in the immediate proximity of said point. An arrangement for identifying an elevator allocated by an elevator system for a user of the elevator system, and also to an elevator arrangement is provided, which implement the aforementioned method.
Abstract:
Elevators and other facilities in buildings and other constructed environments can be controlled remotely. In an advanced controlling method at least one person is guided through constructed environment along a predetermined route. When the route is known facilities, such as elevators, may be called or activated in advance so that the person guided along the route does not need to do it when arriving at the area of influence of the facility. When there are more than one person travelling the routes may be combined such that the central system controlling allocations of facilities may call or activate resources more than one person.
Abstract:
A data communication arrangement for elevators is disclosed. In the arrangement a directional antenna is used for transmitting data from elevator car. Correspondingly, the counterpart antenna in the end of the elevator shaft is transmitting with a directional antenna. In the elevator a further omnidirectional antenna is used to communicate with the terminal devices belonging to passengers. The properties of antennas may be adjusted based on the speed and location of the elevator car. In addition to the properties of antennas also other transmission characteristics may be adjusted based on the same information.
Abstract:
In elevator journey prioritization often calls for larger groups are prioritized. This is often misused by placing elevator calls for larger groups that are actually travelling. This problem can be reduced by identifying the calling person when placing the call and again in the elevator. The number of people in the elevator can be estimated by using machine vision or weight-based approximation methods. When the number of passengers is not known the possible misuse can be suspected if a person places considerably more group calls as than average.
