    Abstract: A lamp has a light emitting element within a sealed transparent vessel. The vessel comprises a cylindrical section with a longitudinal axis L in parallel to a longitudinal axis F of the light emitting element. In order to provide a lamp suited for compact reflectors, a heat shielding element is arranged to shield at least infrared light. The heat shielding element is arranged in parallel to the longitudinal axis F of the light emitting element and has an axial extension of at least 80% of the light emitting element. The heat shielding element is arranged to shield infrared light emitted into directions perpendicular to the longitudinal axis F covering a circumferential extension of 20°-120° measured in cross section.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a LED lamp unit replacing an H4 bulb in a headlamp. The LED lamp unit (2) at least comprises two LED light sources (5) arranged on two opposing sides of a support member (11) to emit in opposed half-spaces, a heat sink (12, 3) and an electrical connector socket. The electrical connector socket is designed to fit in a lamp holder of a H4 headlamp such that the plane (6) separating the opposed half-spaces is tilted around the optical axis (7) of the headlamp by an angle of between 5° and 30° against the horizontal plane when the connector socket is mounted in the lamp holder. The proposed LED lamp unit replaces H4 bulbs in H4 headlamps and achieves the required legal beam pattern without changing the optical design of the headlamp.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a LED lamp unit replacing an H4 bulb in a headlamp.     Abstract: A retrofit lamp (310) is provided. The retrofit lamp comprises a connector (311) for mounting the lamp at an automotive headlight; a body (312) extending from the connector along an axis (313); and a plurality of light emitting diodes (314) arranged at the body. The light emitting diodes are arranged along the axis and adapted to emit light (331, 332) laterally with respect to the axis. The retrofit lamp further comprises a reflective element (315) arranged at an end of the arrangement of light emitting diodes opposite to the connector. The reflective element is adapted to reflect some light (332) emitted by the light emitting diodes. Additionally—the extension of the arrangement of light emitting diodes along the axis is shorter than a light emitting area (114) of a reference replaceable headlight bulb (110), and—the reflective element (315) is configured to establish a virtual prolongation (340) of the arrangement of LEDs.
